it feels like it is pass away.
Seeing as its supposed to be the “World PVP” server and ironforge.gg has the population split being 60% ally to 40% horde I doubt alliance will open up.
Yup… the “keep it balanced” principle that is what keeps what it is alive is the knife in its own back that will eventually kill it. I think its poetic.
Considering that the balance on Grobbulus was fine when the heavy hand of Blizzard decided to put the SoD faction locks on it, as if in an effort to claim that they had done something that worked, while it had already been fine without their locks.
The way that they have implemented the great server consolidation as well, artificially bolstering the perceived size of Pagle by adding “virtual” realms, while shutting off Alliance transfers from Benediction to Grobbulus (at the time of this post, I am able to transfer Alliance from Faerlina to Grobbulus, but not from Benediction).
Wielded by none other than the Blizzard developers.
Indeed. Poetically orchestrated…

Also, Horde is becoming less active on the regular. They pretend like the server won’t just follow the pattern of other PvP servers with attrition and decay. It will and if they can extract a couple bucks from people by scapegoating “well they knew what it was” while offering literally every other player the chance to merge, there’s no reason they wouldn’t take the margin laughing all the way. We’ll see how much they want to commit but their “determination” won’t change a single thing for player behavior…
Hahaha for all of that talk about playing on the less populated side of pvp servers you transfer in on alliance side.
I have both Alliance and Horde. Mostly at 85, since I only have 2 level 90s (one of each faction) at the moment.
And I mean, it’s not as though there is any choice when it comes to PvP servers, so what sort of point are you even trying to make?

Part of the problem is PVP is balanced in a way that many more PVP focused players will probably end up rolling alliance. It is the min/max mentality of modern gamers. Even if its not some sort of insane over the top no way to win without it advantage. They simply will pick it because, yes, its better or more likely because youtube said so.
Horde guilds were leaving on the regular pretty quickly before the migration even popped up as an idea. So it was dropping. I am sure more are preparing to or are dead because you aren’t getting fills of any quality. No reason to log on outside of raid times because pugs… yeah they don’t really exist… the reality of the game needing to be technically sharded kind of wimps out the world pvp angle too. So that will only dry up too.
Over all it was an “idea” that sounds decent when you just have some words up on the white board. The reality is it takes a little hands on, it as required a good number of players to migrate to grobbulus (didn’t happen at near the numbers), and in general requires them to completely rework their their layering tech… lol… takes them a week to get paid services back online.
So that is two things that require them to do work… so… we know that isn’t happening right… and then one that was just a lets hope this works out (it didn’t) for it to be a manageable situation. So its a flop. No other way to put it. Just let people go already. Leave Grobb open to anyone that wants this life. That’s fine, but do not force everyone else to live it for pride.
ok but fr tho they needa just open them up asap or it pass away.
Nobody cares about grobbuless
Its pretty true. No one cares about Grobb. The one time the devs cared was to in essence deem it a slow painful death instead of just doing the thing they did for everyone else.
erm
not surprised. Alliance was always the more popular faction for pvp. I think we’ll just see it perma-locked to Alliance players now
if this goes to WoD part of that is aesthetics. I cannot lie, as a dual factioner in retail I never had issues pouring 1000’s into the gold sink that is garrison upgrade. Its makes for a nce nice visual setup up. 10’s of 1000’s gold later you see what you pay for.
Stone walls and buildings crafted by skilled masons. and since we learned form Varian in era days…we pay them.
then you get the horde. that has you go so…what about this mud and straw and bone is worth 10’s of 1000’s of gold. lots of gold, bigger mudhuts. Joy.
Given that Grob is likely going to lose a lot of its horde population if they ever decide to stop holding people hostage combined with the fact that Alliance is already around 60% of the pop on Grob I do not think Alliance xfers to Grob are going to happen soon if at all.
Alliance transfers to Grob are not closed. It seems as though Benediction transfers for Grob (for either faction) are.
I thought all xfers to or from Grob were being met with errors of some kind.
As far as I know, it was only Benediction, Faerline, and Whitemane that should have transfers available to Grobbulus:
I just tested again, and am still currently able to transfer characters, including Alliance from Faerlina to Grobbulus, but not able to transfer from Benediction to Grobbulus, regardless of faction.

Whole situation seems mega borked.
“Balanced” was the goal, sitting at 60/40… let me onto the 60 side!
