So given the realm is consistently seeing people transferring their alts over to immediately get into trade chat to ask about realm pop I figured I would give some data points on how it is doing.
Given the reason above, and people with alts, I don’t feel like the wow census number of total characters is that great to go off of, rather I’ve been going off of current active players at once alliance side, haven’t gotten around to horde yet. To me this is the more important data point given, you can only play with people who are actively on.
Day one, the total active was dismal as expected on a brand new realm, and active count peaked at ~180, the following day, or day 2 of the realm being available it would be around ~360. Last night, day 3, current active peak numbers were climbing to ~690.
So day to day 2 we saw 200% growth, day 2 to day 3 we saw 192% growth. There will be naysayers that want to go kek dead realm on a realm the basically started, there will also be those wanting to just spout total realm pop from a 3rd party site.
What this concludes though is that people are xferring here, we are seeing great numbers percentage wise in growth, world pvp is alive, grouping is there but segregated til we get even more active people.
My personal opinion is it will keep growing till wrath launch, and on launch day or week we will see additional surges. As far as longevity of the realm, who knows but here is to hoping blizzard maybe finally learned a lesson and takes proper measures to keep realms active and balanced.( I do not have a whole lot of faith in that given everything recently)
