Dear Blizzard, I see what you have done for Grobbulus and Deviate Delight (EDIT: I WAS WRONG DD has not had it’s transfers shut off yet!!!), and I want that for Kromcrush too! Thank you for listening to the community and making this happen in the last few months.
The Free Character Transfers have long since outlived their practical usefulness. Years ago some people were able to move around to the more populated clusters, which was a good thing, but now the feature only enables and encourages RMT on Whitemane cluster.
From what I can tell, not only are there a large number number of bots and farmers transferring goods off for sale on Whitemane, but there is also a massive account selling operation in business there as well. Farmers will boost up and outfit fresh characters with Tidal charm, AGM, and a couple other key items and then move it off. I believe a few of these are legitimate players just trying to game the system and get ahead on the vastly more populated Whitemane cluster, but most are intended for RMT. We saw this all the time on Grobbulus too.
Blizzard, we implore you to put the final nail in this problem and make era a safe and fun place for the REAL people. Everybody who wanted to transfer off Kromcrush already did so four years ago. Make the rest of era a cleaner and more welcoming haven for people who wish to actually play the damn game.
They should end free transfers all over the place only people using it are bots.
Would help deal with the massive botting issue on Era, it helped tons with Grobb bot problem.
Era should also have a curfew. The boomers need their sleep. At 9pm servers go down until 6 am the next day. Can’t have grouchy middle management. Go spend time with ur kids or wife post 9pm.
Bump for great justice! The reasons for disabling this on Grob are every bit as valid when considering other servers too.
The impact on Grob was immediately noticeable. All the bots and professional farmers moved on. Apparently there was a noticeable impact on Whitemane as well. Servers should be for players who actually play the game.
There isn’t enough bots on era for that to matter. If some random goober hops on then his character is unplayable because the server is dead and they can’t transfer. Taking take away is more harmful than the possible 10 bots maybe that are on era.
Then that player could maybe join in with the folks that are making that server home?
Does someone really have to play past say level 20 to figure out if they can vibe on that server?
Level 20 is easy to drop and go again elsewhere.
The ones that are abusing this are not the innocents.
I’m not currently playing Era but up until the time I stopped I saw the behavior. Asking is fine. Blizzard has the data and will make the decision.
Looks to me though that this could put a dent in the bad business.
I meant a 60 who didn’t go to TBC. Seems like a bad idea if they wanted to hope on for a dungeon or something after 5 years and find out the server is empty and can’t change
After five years, the paid move should be there for the original account owner once they are rescued from that well they’ve been trapped in so they can hop on to do a random dungeon.
The active Bots on era is very low. However there are alot of bot accounts sitting on millions of gold that was farmed when era was active. They had 3-4 years when era was popular to build up a stockpile.
Anyone against free transfer being shut off actively bots dead clusters to xfer to “active clusters” to make gold or farm their raid consumes. Change my mind.
As for players returning five years later, games already not what was promised in 2019 so get bent.
Deviate Delight has a massive botting problem as well since they can just use the free character transfer to Whitemane, we have a small raiding community on the Horde side and are having issues finding Black Lotus as of lately for flasks.
Oh I was under the impression they shut off your free transfers too? When Grobb got them shut off there’s been ZERO bots and farmers and all the resources are ours now! I’ll need to amend the thread OP.
