Era dead thanks to gdkp

I swear these RMTers just love the concept of digital casinos with their GDKP/boosting culture. I wish they would stop turning WoW into a digital casino and go play Diablo Immoral instead.

Thatā€™s your problem. Youā€™re supposed to apply to one gdkp, get rejected, and come here to complain.

As a fresh 60 mage on Mankrik I had no trouble finding non gdkp pugs and guilds.

Iā€™m reasonably sure the OPā€™s post is a troll.

However, I think you misunderstand. Spending weeks/months to get raid ready is normal gameplay. The difference between us is that I expect to spend weeks/months getting raid ready by doing content and gearing up. You expect people to spend weeks/months farming gold that they will then pay to you in order for you to take them on runs and gear them up.

Thereā€™s a pretty big difference there.

At the end of the day, GDKP is just another form of a paid carry, not all that different from when we saw a huge rise of guilds selling runs in BfA/Shadowlands. Is it your fault so many people are willing to acquire gold in some way and pay you so they can skip the game? No, not really. Is it your fault that you skip the farming part of the game by paying for it? I mean, maybeā€¦ but youā€™re rolling in gold so why wouldnā€™t you?

It still sucks for the *game* though.

If you want to raid you should have to farm. Thatā€™s the whole point.

In the entire history of wow there has not been a single reported case of a resto shaman being rejected from anything :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok gdkp buyer. Arent you and 10 others in the raid only there because of the gold you have while 30 other people do the work? Keep getting carried lil bro at least you can buy that gear!

Thereā€™s a lot of nonsense in this thread.

Sounds like OP is on Era. Might be a troll post, but you never know these days.

If you donā€™t like GDKP. Find a guild that uses a different loot system. There are plenty of them out there.

GDKP is not the same as RMT. If GDKPs didnā€™t exist RMT still would without Microblizz actually addressing the issue, which they donā€™t. Peopleā€™s grievances should be with the company thatā€™s neglecting the issue not the players playing the game. The company that is punishing legitimate players for the actions of the players violating the rules. And now that Microblizz is banning GDKP on SoD we have all this shills jumping on board with them and blaming real legitimate players who do not RMT for RMT.

Please advocate for banning players directly involved in RMT, not for banning loot systems.

It might kill off players that buy gold to buy gear and the players that scoop up gold from these players to resell but Era is a lot more than these idiotic paid carries.

I wonder how Vanilla originally survived!

I am just a humble farmer and businessman. I employ many people, feeding them and giving them a place to live. In exchange for this they work my fields, helping me to grow a crop that has many medicial uses and can help people all over the world feel better. Any complaints you might have heard from my employees regarding quality of life, working conditions, or any such things of that nature should be ignored. There are always ungrateful people involved in any business venture. Most love me and tell me so frequently because they know how well I treat them. Furthermore, it is no fault of mine that some people suffer ill effects from my crops, how can I possibly be blamed for those who donā€™t have the strength of will to manage themselves accordingly?

So please, remember that I do honest and good work, helping to strengthen the economy of not only my country, but many other countries as well. Donā€™t punish me or sanction my crops. Instead, punish those who purchase it or use it improperly.

Iā€™m not understanding your metaphor here. Are you trying to equate farmers of illicit substances to GDKP participants? Are you trying to equate farmers of illicit substances to people who sell gold? Are you equating them to people who buy gold? Are you equating the illicit substance to RMT?

Because the only valid comparison is the illicit substance to RMT. GDKP doesnā€™t depend on RMT just as no part of the economy depends on RMT. RMT also does not depend on GDKP. But GDKP and RMT can only be separated by proper enforcement of the rules of the game just as the gameā€™s economy and RMT can only be separated by proper enforcement of the rules of the game.

So what people need to advocate for is proper enforcement of the rules. Getting rid of GDKP has no chance of getting rid of RMT because getting rid of GDKP doesnā€™t get rid of the gameā€™s economy. All it does is remove a loot system that is in many ways superior assuming the participants follow the rules of the game.

That is not the issue though. It is that GDKP is a catalyst for RMT. People buy more gold to ensure a specific rare drop, than they will to buy consumes to perform. That is just obvious. And there is not really any other reason to need gold, i guess boosting.

It definitely seems like youā€™re not understanding the metaphor.

GDKP, properly used and in moderation should be fine. Itā€™s not. It needs to go.

I donā€™t disagree with you. I never understood hording gold either. Once I got my epic, I only need gold for repairs and flight points. I gather my own mats for pots and such. Iā€™m not a raid logger.

27 thousand posts LMAO

Posts like this prove to me that you donā€™t actually play the game or have good parses because itā€™s the opposite and most of the time for naxx gdkp you donā€™t even bring buyers

GDKP isnā€™t going anywhere sorry not sorry. Go play SoD or keep blogging

This is an important fact a lot of players seem to overlook.

The super expensive items are rarely going to ā€˜buyersā€™ they are going to raiders that have been getting cuts for months while waiting for the last item or two they need to drop.

If I wanted to deal with guild politics and be forced to raid only at specific times every week, I would join a raid guild.

Instead I made more gold than I have ever had from gdkp splits, got my hunter in a solid set of pre naxx gear, raided at times that worked with my schedule, and donā€™t have to let down a guild that just gave me loot if I choose not to log in. Itā€™s the best situation Iā€™ve ever been in in wow.

Thank you gdkps
