Epic questline around Otto the mount destroyed all progress

I completed the quest line to get Otto, the epic mount, and created the Overflowing Fish Barrel. I went to the correct location in Waking Shores and was able to use the Overflowing Fish Barrel; however as soon as it spawned on the ground, the Empty Fish Barrel (the start of the quest) spawned next to it, and then the Overflowing Fish Barrrel de-spawned, leaving me completely empty.

I spent several days farming hard- fishing countless hours to get a coin for the Swog, getting the aquatic shades and following the quest line. This is extremely demoralizing… please restore my Overflowing Fish Barrel or grant me my Otto mount. I was so anticipating riding around on my new Otto mount… and now this quest entirely bugged out. Wowhead reports other people seeing the same bug. Please FIX THIS!

same thing just happened to me, i opened a ticket. So annoying!!! I hope they fix it

yeah man, tell me about it. spent 2 whole days killing sir pincalot and farming the fish just for otto not to show up. idk what to do. i thought it was because i lvl’d to 70 in the legion expension with chromie and thus didnt start dragonflight. & the worst part? i did it twice (grinding for the fish and filling the barrel) just for him not to spawn… TWICE. so depressing.

I was thinking about doing it again, but after seeing your post, I better wait on my ticket.

when they fix it (if) they fix it. will we be notified? i have the filled barrel in my bank waiting for this bs to be fixed.

Ayuda, yo tambien tengo el mismo problema, entrege el barril y me aparecio el barril con pescados, pero no paso nada, interactue con la carpa, comida y del enojo, le patie el tablero de juego a los enanos, pero nunca llego Otto… Plis ayudenos :frowning:

Got a response from a GM on my ticket.
" Seems like you’re unable to start “The Way to an Otto’s Heart” after several attempts - upon taking a look, I can see that there are no known issues for this quest for the time being.

We would advise you to complete other quests to rule out any phasing issues due to the character’s progession. We would also advise you to check out the Wowhead comments related to the quest, as it may help guide you on solving any of the issues you’re facing.

Should none of the above work and you’re sure you are facing bugs, please, be sure to, first, reset your user interface and disable add-ons before you try again. Then, if it persists, submit a bug report from your side."

Seems to me that if a phasing issue is preventing Otto from appearing, that’s pretty much already a bug. :man_shrugging:

There’s another thread with the same barrel bug.

Looks like it’s getting some attention. Hopefully it’ll be addressed soon. It is expansion launch week. So I am sure they’re having many issues. Here is what I got this morning, after receiving an automated response:

Note: Bug reports submitted in-game do not receive a personal response. Instead, they’ll be directed to the teams responsible for addressing them.

Until the issue is resolved, your patience would be highly appreciated!

LOL I like how one response is, “devs are already investigating this issue.” and the other response is, “there are no known issues for this quest for the time being.”

Same happend to me, ufff, many hours wasted. Hope they send us the mount by mail. :frowning:

My ticket received this response

“Customer support does not provide game hints or restore items, currencies, or progress lost due to bugs”

So incredibly disappointing Blizzard.

I would try to submit another ticket or keep pressing your current one.

I would, I’m going to wait until season 1 starts + finish the dragonflight campaign. My ticket response was somewhat similar to the other responses but with an added “please turn off any addons that effect the ui” so maybe that’ll help. just takes one brave soul to risk their barrel and tell us its fixed.
