I put another ticket in the other day and finally got a response.
“As I understand, your Epic Purple Shirt has gone missing from your inventory. This is working as intended, as the cosmetic was added to your Collection and the physical item subsequently deleted from the game in an update. If you’d like to share your feedback regarding this decision, you can do so over at the World of Warcraft community forums or using the in-game “Submit Feedback” option that is found on the Support menu: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/”
So basically working as intended for our stuff to go missing. I don’t know what else to say.
Hello!
i have had my tabard of flame disappear sometime around Jul 10-14ish.
I have made multiple tickets to chat with GMs and customer service about this. It has been a mind boggling difficult task to get any useful information out of them.
it took 3 tickets over a week’s time to get someone to say it was an intentional dev change.
which is ridiculous.
I have since found that I can log in to my PTR character, on a copy that I made around Season 3 of Dragonflight, and my tabard of flame is just there. Nothing weird about it. Exactly as it has been for the last 7 years.
No new tooltip saying it can be consumed to add the appearance to my collection, or anything.
Important to note, that PTR servers are currently updated AHEAD of Live Servers. so the items are 100% still within the game, and were not “removed as an intentional dev decision”.
I have also seen a tabard of frost on the BMAH tonight on Live Realms. Again, nothing different about its tooltip at all. The item is still there. I don’t have the gold to bid on it and see if it stays, though.
Furthermore, it seems like everyone who has had this issue, of TCG items disappearing, have all had them go at seemingly random times. I’ve seen reports of items disappearing before mine ever left, and I’ve seen reports from after.
This is a really strange thing, not sure what’s happening, but I, for one, will not stop bickering with customer support until my tabard is returned AND I am compensated for the grief they have caused me, the time they have wasted, and for just blatantly lying to me.
This is completely ridiculous, and it very much seems like they are trying to sweep it under the rug and just say “well its in ur appearance collection so its ok”, completely disregarding anyone’s prestige or attachment they may have had to these items they’ve had for years.
Crossposting to other threads regarding the same issue.

I’m having the same issue with my Epic Purple Shirt I’ve been wearing since I got the loot card from the TCG went missing a few weeks ago, I put in multiple tickets and got the same bulls–t response over and over again
I think this was not accurate and the customer support person was confused about the difference between the TCG item and the appearance from the twitch promo.
It sure would be nice to get our items back. How many weeks/months are we gonna have to wait to get something we owned back? It shouldnt be that hard to restore an item that is literally in our transmog collections.
I have a friend who is a Dev. This was not intentional and they were unaware. He suggested we continue to put bug reports and he did pass it along internally, referencing this forum thread specifically.
Lots of TCG items seem to have gone missing during this whole data drain. The shirts for one, but also alot of TCG tabards too. I’m also missing my TCG Magic Rooster Egg, though its unclear if a bug ate that or the bank did. I have submitted tickets about it, really hope I can get it back, can’t replace it at this point. And I’m having nightmares now about Nomi cooking it, in front of me, to ashes…
I don’t think they’re listening. At least they’re not listening to all the players who’s guild banks they deleted, or the issues with warbanks eating items/gold, or warbands deleting currency transfers, or AH eating items, or honor/reputation being reset. They may have identified and stopped the problems from getting worse now. But I don’t think a single person has gotten anything restored from the cavalcade of bugs we’ve seen in the last 3 months.
I have every intention to keep making noise and keep putting in feedback, bug reports, etc. I dont see this as being any different than any number of other problems that have been addressed, even if its taken time. It is easy enough to see that we had the items and then didnt. I recommend everyone keep screenshots if you have from when you owned the item, and Ive also saved a snip from when I followed their direction to use item restore and that it wasnt there.
As they directed me to item restore I am also putting in feedback that item restore is broken. As their response to correcting this is to use item restore, and since the items we didnt sell or delete arent in there, that must be broken too.
They don’t accept screenshots, or video, or livestreams, or mod ledgers, or even their own guild deposit log. If an item corrupts/deletes itself and they don’t have a log of it being vendored or player deleted then it doesn’t exist to them. You’d think there would be a backup of player data at some point over the years they could check on but at this point with all the other unresolved player data deletion going on like reputations and guild banks and currencies its looking like either they don’t keep backups or they just don’t care enough to check.
4 months since my shirt disappeared off my character and still no solution. Im hoping the patch next week does something for it, but I highly doubt it.
