Personally I think EPIC BG is a very very very fun game mode… in fact over the past year its become my favorite game mode by far!!! Its basically kinda like a big mini-world where i can do what i want. I love love love big team fights and then I love going to off-nods after that and picking fights with people.
That being said, i think EPIC BG is currently plagued by a few issues
-
Healer imbalance. There is none in this game mode and sometimes you literally get 15 heals vs 1 healer. This needs to be better tuned imo!!! any1 else agree?
-
Premade premade premade. We have all heard it before… nobody likes fighting them, and quite frankly I dont even like being on their side because they just make the game so lopsided and boring. I wish there as an option to somehow avoid those big sync premades entirely!!!
-
Map imbalances. For example IoC the horde literally have an uphill battle at hangar. Alliance can get there just a tadddd bit faster and with ice walls/ ring of peace etc they can make it very very hard for hordes to get to flag!!! Maybe add like 20 feet of flat terrain before the choke point or something. that choke on the hill is terrible.

No new EPIC BG map in years! It has been a very very very long time since we have got a new epic BG map… can we please get one soon?
I think with just a few easy changes… EPIC bg could become even better !!! and more people could get into them! I would love to hear others opinions on what they like/dislike about epic bg

Not for me, EBGs caters to raid sized premades.

Epics bgs should have their own forum because it’s not really PvP. It’s kindergarten PvP. And it’s rife with premades. It’s really garbage play style. “Get SR or GG” and then…3 mins after the game started you either stay and win or you leave the match because it’s gg. I was in Ashram and by the time I made it across the map we won the game. I hadn’t done a thing. PvP is in a bad pathetic state but epic bgs is even worse

It sure doesn’t or you would be able to join as a raid sized premade.
Obviously you can or premade Communities wouldn’t be the topic of discussion on almost every thread/post?

i do agree i think zerging boss in ashran is stupid and should be hotfixed asap
i hate that crap. i came to pvp not win in 2min by walking to boss

People can cheat as well does that mean it should be the norm?

It should not be the norm, but it is. It should be recognized as a ToS violation as it is a game exploit and should relult in account ban waves. Or not, i can live just fine NOT queuing into EBG premade communities and finding half or more of my team already quit.
So it’s ok because it’s the norm?..
Most non rated players don’t want to engage in combat so zerging bosses and collecting stuff to turn in to summon a mini boss isn’t PvP. Av used to choke points you had to fight over. Now you just run past everyone and pull the boss and whoever burns faster wins. It’s the worst PvP game invented
I HIGHLY doubt this is true whatsoever… it’s the sweats and try hards that have normalized the easy way to do everything. It’s also those same people blizzard has catered too in the game.

If we want these premade’s gone people need to come together and advocate for bans to be handed out and not temp bans perma bans

Yeah, I’m a casual pvp’er but I have become a fan of the epic bgs. I don’t play any arenas or rated bgs. I have been playing epics a lot more recently since my previous guild disbanded and my friends left to do other things. I pretty much agree with all of your points. I have the most fun with larger man epics, especially when games are close or back and forth. One sided games are just not fun to me even if I’m on the winning side. I probably would not pvp at all anymore if they remove epics or if they get too one sided.
Like disliking a food provider experience, I wont voice my complaints too loud, I just will never go back(into EBGs). If Blizzard is cool with premades removing the possibility for pugs to win an EBG 99 times out of 100, fine. Not my dumpster, not my fire. Dont expect me to hang out and see what it smells like after the 20th time. Eventually even I learn the lesson.
I do support everyone enjoying the content they enjoy(except queue syncers). I dont feel badly about EBGs because of map or objective design(although those are valid concerns), I’m just not gaining character progression at a pace I’d like from 1 min or 3hour matches Vs premades that end in a loss regaurdless of what I do. And I have no interest in joining a raid to queue sync 5man and less content. There is no honor in it.

I’m gonna say overall no, but I’m still having fun and it’s worth running to me.
The premade thing seems to be less frequent in my experience minus one group. I don’t have evidence beyond anecdotal so I won’t name names, but que syncing nearly half the team and still using lock port/dk grips to put people into spots that either disconnect them or cause them to be unable to move should be a bannable offense.
Biggest issue I’ve had though is something that premades both cause more of and also solve, and that is players choosing to not actively participate and/or just leaving after they die once.
Had a wintergrasp offense I lost at the end of the patch, we had the final wall at 30% for three minutes but the horde team put up a defense and held it while we had a near endless number of vehicles roll in. Was a lot of fun in spite of a couple people who hid off objectives the whole bg crying.
But games like that are becoming further and further between. I quit playing Dota 2 when I realized I had one good game for every 5 or so I played and have had that feeling with bgs from time to time.
Epic BGs is okay for farming honor gear on new chars and completing quests for conquest.
Otherwise, I prefer the OG with WSG. By far my favorite map, because it’s small and actually forces people to fight

No. It’s ok because blizzard allows it.
