Enough with the low % drop mounts (especially for events) - Solution

Blizzard, just give me a bad luck token (account wide ideally) every time I kill a boss with a 1% or less drop like Love Rocket or Tyrael’s Charger and the mount doesn’t drop. After I accumulate a fair number (say 300 tokens?) I can go to the RNGsus NPC and purchase the mount.

If you get the mount early, HOORAY! Enjoy your dopamine rush. If you don’t, okay, only x number of times to kill this before I can get it regardless! Win-win!

I had over 1300 runs just for A’lar. It’s not fun and is why I don’t really farm rare drop mounts outside of Love Rocket. I don’t want to subject myself to killing something 1000 times and not having it drop because of bad luck.

After you’ve killed a boss hundreds of times, I believe you have seen the content enough to warrant purchasing an elusive mount that refuses to drop.

I had to clear Strat over 4k times for my Barrons mounts so I agree

Yeah it’s idiotic. Even for ever green stuff, farming crap for years to get something is ridiculous. Doubly so when it comes to these limited time events.

Blizzard, Ion, whoever is doing this, really needs to stop making crap decisions.

In the case of Tyraels charger, its actually 100% ok - it was only available 2 times, once in a 12 month sub and december for $25. This prevents devalue for those who outright bought it. If you wanted it so bad, why didnt you buy it in december on store?

Then don’t put it into the event as a drop then. It’s a cheap trick to entice people to do that lagfest event anyway.

Only reason I got this was someone else got it and traded it to me. That’s rough!

Cool, but I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about low drop mounts. Tyrael’s Charger is now that.

I get you’re upset a mount you bought is now a drop, but this isn’t the thread for it. If it makes you feel better, I’m talking about the Love Rocket. Where’s my option to buy that?

Lol no one would touch this event without the lame trinkets it offers. It’s terrible.

Fully agree here, whenever you finally get the mount you’re after, there is not as much joy as Blizz thinks players experience, for the player it’s more a feeling of, finally I got it, but with this system, it would give you a sense that you are making tangible progress.

Yes please. I’ve wanted this system for years.

It’s more like a ‘‘thank gawd that is over’’ lol

So much this. I don’t feel joy. I feel relief I don’t have to do it anymore.

I couple times I’ve had a nice rush when it dropped within the first 10 or so runs, but when you’ve been doing it 200+ times you just get numb to it.

Like the biggest gripe I had with Legion was they had this currency, curious coins, but you couldn’t buy the paragon mounts that took forever to farm just for a CHANCE at them. I have over 3000 of them across several accounts, yet I don’t have the carpet or the moose.

You couldn’t have those mounts at 500 curious coins each?

Exactly, either that or a player hits a point where they say screw this, and that is one less reason to keep logging in. With a currency it will keep them logging in longer knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Exactly. Deterministic reward. Why must we have all or nothing?

What a coincidence this is in your mount collection. Someone a little… pooper peeved?

Nope, because a ton of people wont get it since its a chance.

Countless people will before June 14th, devaluing your purchase. Just a hint of… butthurt?

The whole point of grinding is you are finally rewarded after you spent time and effort

What you’re asking is handouts

Exactly. I’ve gotten to a point where I go, ‘‘ooo, this looks neat, I’ll try for it’’ goes over to wowhead to see the drop rate or that it takes a year to get or that it requires a spawn that is soooooooooooo hard to get and I just nope out.

I don’t think you know what ‘‘handouts’’ means.

No devalue, the drop rate is not very high.
