everything is changing so who says a shaman cant just use windfury as his main wep enchant and still pull good numbers, make lava lash on the lines of being a lava burst it crits if you have flameshock up , seeing how they are giving flame shock back and turn lava lash into a baseline damage ability and not just a “offhand” ability
That’s the same way obliterate works my guy, and I already explained how easy it is to tune dmg to be equal. That off hand main hand buff statement is weak because watch this. Fury has two two handers and can enchant both arms has one and can enchant one. Arms and fury do close to the same dps. Enhancement duel wield and twohander can be changed with an aura buff
The amount of times I press lava lash in a play session is abysmal. I could probably take it off my bar and barely see a performance loss.
There was no point in removing monks’ abilities to use multiple weapons. They were like that because of the Legion artifacts and since no effort went into class design for BFA, they didn’t re-enable monks’ ability to do so. It’s not like monks attack any slower with a two-hander. They had a passive that made it so they attack faster with a two-hander equipped.
There’s a much more valid argument for Frost. Since their main damage source DID change with weapon types. It’s… been years since I last seriously played death knight but I think two-handed was Obliterate-focused and Frost Strike was dual wielding.
It would be interesting to have something similar happen with enhancement, but what about the fact that there are no agility axes because druids can’t use axes, and no agility maces because hunters can’t use maces? And since monks can’t use two handed of either, you’d just add a lot of unnecessary item bloat for no reason. I’m certain none of you want to smack people with an agility staff, which is the agility two-hander everyone could use. No. This is about axes and maces.
So in order to avoid that problem you’d want enhancement to be strength-based again? Make every bit of mail gear switch to strength instead of agility? Or have every two hander with strength to switch to agility for enhancement? What would that do? Make it so every two-handed user fight over one piece of gear? There’s a lot of those.
Again, I would be totally down for two-handed enhancement back. But I don’t want the whole spec to be half-baked because Blizzard couldn’t properly flesh the gameplay and systems out in time for the expansions launch, and by then they’ll have brand new problems and won’t want to be held back by some niche passion project.
yes sir, and only people who really play enhance can actually tell you these things
To be fair, there’s precedent for just adding multiple primary stats to an item and it choosing dynamically based on the class equipping it. Given the current state of the game this would be the easiest fix.
raigor I agree with you on this 100% they can easily just add stats to iteams already into the game just like how some classes swap specs and the main stat goes from agility to intellect
Actually no its very very simple. ALL weps useable by shaman and plate wearers. Watch this. Much like how a wep will have int or str on depending on the role you have it on the same can be added to now have str int or agi on it. Depending on what role is using it.
An ability that increases attack speed with a 2 hander equipped? If only that could be applied to another situation. Old flurry comes to mind for shamans. Blizzard has never been known to borrow mechanics from other classes.
Also to be fair to Lava Lash, I mostly M+, so I get more value out of it via Crash Lightning cleave. Wouldn’t mind seeing it revamped though to feel better to press.
So you’d want all plate wearers, survival hunters, feral and bear druids, and enhancement shaman to have the same weapons…?
10 specs all wanting the same weapon? Can you actually imagine that in a real scenario? That’s disregarding the fact that fury uses TWO of them.
Ya I can, I’ve seen it did you play in wotlk?
I did. It wasn’t 10 different specs. The problem then was not enough classes were using dual wield axes except for hunters as a stat stick and enhancement. That’s when combat rogues got the ability to use axes.
no matter what classes are going to be fighting over gear it makes no difference, all cloth fights for cloth, all plate fights for plate mail for mail and weps all around it would make no diff
Plenty of classes fought over gear even then agi was good for warriors so I mean it’s not a big deal to fight over gear. More over its personal loot so that issue doesnt exist.
It’s a big deal when too many classes had to fight for the same piece of gear. That’s why they effectively limited our armor classes to what we were designed for.
And you’ve never had to ask someone in ANY group you’ve been in for an item that dropped? Personal loot is a dumb system to begin with, but this thread isn’t about that.
and realistically how many classes use 2h maces/axe , warrior, pally, deathknight? but wait dk has a choice of 2h or duel wield so they wouldn’t be fighting over it as much nor is “fighting for loot” a thing anymore because of personal loot being a thing
I mean but personal loot gets rid of your fighting over gear argument. And let’s say they bring masterloot back well then your in a guild and will eventually get the weapon you want.
so your fighting with 2 MABEY 3 other classes , lets compare intellect users you got priest mage warlock monk druid pally shaman all “fighting” for intellect weps , like sarolyn said personal loot just nullifies the argument of people fighting for gear, so them adding agility to already axes and maces in game wouldn’t be a issue
Two warriors where one spec uses two of them. All 3 flavors of death knight, retribution paladins, and hunters for axes and two druid specs for maces. And personal loot still causes the same problem where the one person in the group that gets the item now has to roll off between the rest of the group. It’s just a delayed problem instead of it happening the first time.
