When Enhancement has stuff that specifically focuses on the offhand weapon while Monks and Frost DK don’t.

A 2h enhancement would be missing both flametongue weapon and Lavalash. So the talents hothand and seering assult now also won’t work for a 2h enchancement. By lacking lavalash, they will also have a different rotation.

So Blizzard would need to do more work for viable 2h enhancement. I’m not saying they can’t do it, but it’s more complicated then just “allow us to use 2h and give 2h a damage buff to make up for it”. I would rather have that time be spent making enhancement in general fun and viable then them trying to change the spec to be weapon neutral or spent trying to balance the two playstyles that would come from a single spec.

Especially after the messy state shaman were in for BfA release, how we were promised a rework in 8.1 but never got it, ect.

well on the bright side there is still a long ways to go and im sure they will take the suggestion into play considering how much they have been listening to the community, hell even pvp vendors are coming back, after so many people saying that it wouldn’t. give it some time and more people vouching for it will help too

I play monk, they do not have that issue. All thier skills only say “only usable when equiped with two weapons”

They do not have skills that specifically target “Do an off-hand weapon strike”

I’m pretty sure the equipped with two weapons is the same thing as shamans being able to lava lash with a twohander as a monk to fof with a twohander. And as for frost dks you can only obliterate with a off hand.

with these new changes and the amount of new damage abilities we are getting back flametongue and lavalash seem like nothing, just like right now in bfa you only use lavalash as a filler when you don’t have stormstrike. lava lash and flametongue are one of your lowest damage. throw in a 2h enhance and replace lavalash with a new filler

So yes I say it takes little effort to add that code to shaman abilities.

yeh I wonder how they plan to balance a ww using a 2h wep when fof clearly states you need 2 1hs to use the ability and how obliterate you need 2 1hs

Flametongue is being reverted to a 30 min weapon buff. And searing assault along with it. It is hard to say if lava lash will not be receiving a change as well

maybe they just forgot about enhance and being able to use 2hs? from all the other suggestions they have been getting and all the other work they have been putting in and forgot to include it? like I said we are still very early it can still happen!

Incorrect. Lava lash specially says and does the damage calculation off your off hand weapon. It is not just a weapon restriction like Monks.

Also I just checked obliterate and it does not have an off-hand only flag (thanks wowhead) like Lava lash.

So yeah Obliterate doesn’t have the same restrictions has lava lash.

yes, I pointed that out. Windfury is also being reverted to a 30 min weapon buff. That means a person running 2h would lack the Windfury/Flametongue combo.

That’s due to the legion weapon flag. Not because the skill was built for being an off-hand skill.

and lets be real, lava lash is only good if you run hot hand and 3x lava lash trait and it still sims lower than stormstrike build, but in this upcoming expansion azerite traits are no longer a thing for some classes, who says you cant buff up lava lash now with having flameshock on the target? and turn lava lash into a baseline damage ability

Oh I’m sorry but no I play a dk frost at that and if you have one weapon on it states must have off hand on to use. And to say it must calculate the dmg of the off hand for lava lash is a weak argument at best.

and lets be real how much damage does flametongue really provide when you have it up? when stormstrike procs have priority over keeping the weapon buff up the way it is now
