Enhance tuning

  1. Lash build is considered OP already among enh, yet it got buffed and thorims got nerfed?
  2. Storm weaver? Why the hell are we getting shoe horned into a pvp talent to help our sustain? Spec issues shouldn’t be fixed with pvp talents people don’t want to take. Blizz already took out power from pvp talents a couple weeks ago for the sake of baseline power and yet they seem stuck on nerfing enh healing into the ground just cause they introduced this talent, and now want us to only be able to heal if this talent is taken. What on earth is this design?

i think the lava lash buff was good and they should have just peeled back some of the ashen nerfs
8% instead of 4% per stack or something

outside of primwave or crit ele blasts lash lacks meaningful finishing power imo

rng wolf frost shock cleaving looks like an insane amount of damage but the splash can be completely irrelevant in a lot of scenarios

stormstrike having 17 interactions between MH/OH, tempest, stormblast, ride, crash, windfury ect doing more than that frostshock all single target and basically spammable generates so much unique meaningful damage

hoping lavalash with few ashen stacks feels meaningful enough to fill in the luls in our damage profile

it’s probably going to be WAY too much overall when we have full crafted mastery gear + venom boots + decay embellishments giving us a 20% mastery buff on proc

way too expensive for thorims and it brings 140k surge up to like 210k . . .
on 1.1 million healthpools … . .

these changes don’t make enhancement better than it is now or fix any of the issues making it borderline unplayable LMAO.

Between a 12% lash buff, 10% EB buff, and 30% uptime on pwave haste with 4p, I think lash is gonna be giga broken. Feel like it’ll just be put back on the nerf slate the week after. This set of patch notes just seems fried

if not now then absolutely when we have more optimal gear
i was hitting higher numbers more consistently with lash last season on smaller healthpools than i have been this season just because of how insanely hard mastery scales

it’s gonna get out of control quickly but even this week lash with 4pc felt worse than thorims in a lot of situations for me

we need some sort of durability or a more impactful buff to healing either way imo

Phew!!! Its a good thing we got these nerfs, otherwise more than 106 enhancement shamans might get over 1800.

I really want to know who sits down and actually looks at balancing and thinks “I know what pvp needs, enhancement nerfs! That’ll fix the issue of DH and DK representing 50% of the ladder”

At this point it is glaringly obvious that they are completely incompetent, maliciously biased, or some combination of both.

Just to clarify, I understand lash is getting buffed. But it just seems like they have no idea what they want to do with the class.

have you tested enh healing? I just tried skirm without weapons as enh and ele and enh surge did 55k baseline while ele did 78k baseline. Enh tooltip says 70k though so did they forget to implement one of the pvp mods? I took off all the healing surge modifying talents but ele with refreshing waters alone does more healing than enh with 10 msw stacks.

Further testing with honor ele weapons, 140k+ surges just hardcasting with refreshing waters, 10 stack msw did 111k. The testing in that first paragraph were all in skirmishes and matched values in pvp zones, which is where I tested these second values.

The problem with Enhance IMHO is not something they’re gonna be able to fix with tuning. I mean it can’t hurt to buff some of it’s weak spots (defensives please for the love of god) but the core problem with enhance seems like all of it’s buttons are just… janky and worse than everyone elses.

Shm charge is a perfect example. Not only is it in the spec tree, it’s locked behind sunder which you may not always want.

Then there’s the fact it’s 1 charge on a 30s CD (Warrior is 2 charges 17s), but it’s also on the GCD (charge is not). It’s the worst gap closer in the game and it’s not even close.

All of enhances utility is like that. Like if hex isn’t the worst casted CC in the game it has to be up there.

Some bandaid buffs would be nice but I really hope for next expansion they look at Shm utility as a whole and add some effectiveness there instead of this everything is difficulty and unwieldy to use thing they have going on atm.

Stormweaver buff is only on the MSW bonus. Not the full heal.

MSW at 10 stacks is nerfed so hard in PvP that it only provides 45% more total healing than baseline.

So, right now a 10 MSW heal only heals for 145% of baseline.

With stormweaver that will go up to 100% + (45% x 1.5 = 67%) = 167%.

it’s a 15% increase in total healing thoughput at 10 MSW stacks if you run stormweaver (167/145 = 1.15).

Seems pretty negligible given how weak surges are…

Time to revert the nerfs to enhance healing surge in PvP?

Like how about removing the 30% nerf to enhance healing surge that carried over from shadowlands and doesn’t even show up on the tooltip?
