My suggestion is that Blizzard give Shamans a fourth spec that involves Earth Magic and a big two-hander. It could be a tank spec, and it could be modeled off Thrall’s new style.
That would be amazing
that could be interesting, but i would rather SS be an attack for X damage, and if a 2H’s involved, it would double or multiply by 1.5-1.75. then either remove the OH feature of lava or bring in a new fire attack that involves using a 2H.
2h rogues ftw. Also, DW casters. I want my staff/sword Gandolf gameplay.
Blizz has been removing fun and unique ways to play classes since launch. It’s like their favourite thing to do. What I find most frustrating about it, is this is the player-base saying “This aspect of this class is REALLY fun”, and instead of leaning INTO it, embracing it, and finding ways to make it official, Blizz removes it entirely or nerfs it into the ground.
2H Enhance Shaman
Spell Power off-hand Shaman
Pick any weapon you want DK
Single-minded Fury Warriors
2H Dps Monks
DW BM Monks
They once leaned into a fun aspect of a class - Gladiator Warriors. It was amazing. Sword and board dps was incredible, but instead of fixing its issues, they removed it entirely, much to everyone’s disappointment.
The fun detected meme has stuck around since the launch because they continue to perpetuate it by removing the fun.
this could be achieved with a new 2h talent, call it something like Ancient Specialization, that changes abilities that require offhand to just require a melee weapon. If the damage is too low compared to current dual wield, you give it a little buff. If its too high, you balance it out making those attacks only do 75-85% dmg, or whatever it needs to be tunned to. either way the talent is used to bridge the gap between 2h and dual wield so both are still good.
I think the main reason people want this is cosmetic, but the nostalgic old power layed in how old wind furry worked when you line it up with stormstrike and how little people had in hp. So the idea of one shotting a lv 120 with 1 trip proc of wf stromstrike is crazy. Unless it is a fresh 120 with under 75k hp. You can imagine that a geared enhance could do 100k dmg in that prime line up, even as dual wield, and the noob deserves it anyway. I think people would also settle for transmog tbh.
2handed Windfury should have never been crushed… it was a knee jerk reaction just like the dagger situation…rather than put effort to rebalance they destroyed it. Now that Blizzard claims to be moving back towards class complexity they should bring 2handed Enhance back. Blizzard have seemingly always put garbage effort into Enhance.
at least the talent for 2hd like in tbc when they added dw to the talent tree.
Increase the attack speed enough to balance out the slow attacks, say you use the butt of your weapon to do LL, boom. The LL could be a cool, flaming uppercut animation.
Yeah cool ideas.
I would prefer the visual aspect of using a 2h over dual wielding. I just dont like how the numbers pop up when use SS. Id rather see 1 big number instead of 2 numbers.
This.
2hd windfury was a joke.
It was never reliable, wasn’t a dps option, and again a joke
I played 2handed windfury in the vanilla PvP ranking system with another Windfury shaman that ended up with Warlord. I only hit Legionare due to time constraints. You may think it was a joke and thats your right but it was viable for PvP not to mention crazy fun it was just RnG based. Which is every class in the game now to some degree…
Big NO from me. 2h dps wouldnt work and people only miss it for one reason and half those people werent even around for it. Classic is coming so you can just sit there and autoattack to your hearts desire then. Dw dps is by far better in terms of numbers and is more satisfying in terms of visuals.
2h DPS wouldnt work?
Arms warriors, ret paladins, and unholy deathknights would disagree.
arms warriors, ret paladins, and unholy dks are not enhancement shamans. So them disagreeing or not is pretty irrelevant.
Of those that you listed only one is even good in pve and thats with their major dps cd popped, which we dont have.
They should alter bloodlust as a personal DPS CD: 20% for 15 seconds, 2 min CD. Also what I said earlier.
I’d also add, if someone was just auto attacking the whole time, they were doing it wrong. No wonder you don’t like it.
Sure. There were other minor things to add. But clearly the only thing that actually mattered was auto attacking and staying on target. You won or lost based on things outside of your control. RNG procs.
You didn’t control the proc, but it was up to you to kite between autos, keep up cleansing, earthbind, healing, and searing totems, watch your swing timer to hit SS as you swung, knowing when to save ES for an interrupt, or blow it for damage, kite far enough away to get a LB off, then SS/auto. You can oversimplify any spec in the game if you’re trying to push a narrative.
