Engineering Idea: Auction H.O.U.S.E

So, during Wrath, Legion, BfA, and Shadowlands, we had Steam Powered auctioneers giving us access to the Auction House if we had Engineering, which most of my characters do. So it occurred to me. We have Jeeves, for banking, selling, and repairs. We have Moll-E (cute nod to Wall-E) for our portable mailbox, and for those of us crazy enough to chase it in Legion, we have Reaves which allowed us almost 8 options. Now I present the latest idea in Gnomish Engineering, and shared with Goblins:

Auction H.O.U.S.E.
The Auction Holographic Organizational User Sales E-Tailer looks like the distant cousin of Mimiron and Jeeves, fits handily in the toybox with similar items, of course requires a TON of mats and time but, is a deployable Steam powered auctioneer with an 8 hours CD allowing the Engineer (Gnomish or Goblin) the chance to build.

Just like their counterparts in Dalaran (Wrath and Legion), Boralus and Zuldazar, and in Oribos, this handy dandy little e-tailer (like a retailer but all online) will allow ANY user in the party or raid to have access during its limited 10 minute battery cycle, it then takes 8 hours to recharge.

Engineering has always been about innovation, and while the dino was cute, this is a lot smaller, more portable, and just as efficient. It is time we had a new Engineering toy that makes sense, and allows for more function in the open world, preventing the need to leave questing zones and return. Keeps the AH clear for the non-engineers and encourages continued questing while selling in the open world.

Thank you for coming to my T.E.D. Talk (Thoughtful Engineering Designs) and be sure to follow me in Stormwind for more real life gadgetry and development ideas!

As someone that has kept engineering on this toon since her creation in BC. Through thick and thin (engineering has been terrible to have sometimes). This idea sounds great.

Thanks! I feel like it is not too over the top since we already have Jeeves, Moll-E, and a dinosaur. I just figure with a long CD and a 10 minute time limit, it could add a small bit of value in the field.

I had an Engineering idea awhile ago: The ACME Flight Point Catapult. Set it up at your location to temporarily link up to the local Flight Point map, no mount needed, just load up and BOOM!, off you go.

Yup, you made it quite fair.

There was a time when I suggest a plan called W.A.R.P.E.D. Basically, as an Engineer, each time you visit an InnKeeper, you leave behind a small beacon known as a Worldwide Assisted Relocation Projection Enforcement Device That would allow you to craft a teleporter and transport your self to any Inn you have unlocked on your map, in any zone in the game. It was similar to the Wormhole Generator, but I thought of it like a fast way to “hearth” and log out, but do it nearby instead. This way your hearth was always in the main city, but you could WARP to an inn if you had to log out in a rush.

Because the expansion hubs didn’t have auction houses for general use.

Thank you captain obvious. This was the reason I have enjoyed being an Engineer since TBC. I got to use them all, and I am encouraging Engineers to make them. Not sure you read the thread my guy.

I read it. You’re asking for a Brutosaur on a cooldown because the auction house in Dornogal is available to everyone.

There I fixed it for you.

Engineering is a monkeys bum of a profession and has only ever been useful to troll others, or for the users own gain.

well, you are definitely free to think what you like.

engineering is completely about one’s own gain. In fact, every profession is about one’s own gain. every profession in this game is used to make money and benefit the person using it. However, engineering usually only benefits the person using it. So I kind of have to wonder if engineering is the selfless profession while everyone else has greed on their mind or benefiting their own gear in a better way. As for me engineering was a smart way to go because I tend to play solo a lot. So having a bank or mailbox or even the ability to drop out of the sky and not fall to death because of the gobbling glider made a lot of sense. And the fact that I could stitch it into my cloak was even better . so yeah, I’m looking for a new toy that will benefit me and it won’t take gold out of other peoples pockets unlike every other profession in the game.

Id call it the
H - Happy
O - Overly
U - Useless
S - Sales
E - Executive

Pretty sure the only mobile AH that will ever exist, is long boy. I get the distinct impression they regret adding even that, since they left the bmah unable to stock one for years.

I’m keeping up hope that just when we think nothing changes, we get all sorts of things we’ve asked for over the decades. Is the chance beyond incredibly low? Yeah. Will I still cling to a good idea? You bet.

Sounds fun, but I would rather have actual housing

Like a Mechanical Goblin you summon who pops up a house so you can walk in?

All good… in one condition.

One of the critical mats for it should be Reins of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur. You need one to make your TOY.
