Blizzard please let us know! I am engineering / blacksmith on my rogue. If goggles are not in phase one I am going to drop engineering for leather working… I hear from different sources that they will have the starter ones than in later phase upgradable one. Others say none till phase 2…
People have already checked the trainers and they are not in phase 1. If I were to wager I’d say they’ll get patched in when Phase 3 pops as it would coincide with their original release.
Now will they retain stealth sight like they did in TBC, or are they gonna apply pre-patch wrath rules on them and remove it on the epic goggles (and nerf the range on catseye). That would be really rough
Also rocket boots were usable in arena for a LONG TIME. It would be really bad if they weren’t possible in season 1 when the first two seasons had em going.
Which doesn’t make sense in the first go around I crafted those googles phase 1 I swear…
blizz already told us theyre coming in tier 5 content, which is not phase 1.
It doesn’t make much sense that they won’t be in at launch, considering some of the other professions are getting some of their heavy value items at launch.
Even just putting in the T4 equivalent goggles would be nice, please don’t make us make the trash goggles just for seeing the mote clouds on the mini map when we could make something that is also decent to wear instead…
I’ll look up the source but I could have sworn I heard that they were going to release them at launch. I thought they said at first that they wouldn’t till tier 5 then went back and said they would after all. I’ll check
Everything I’m seeing says it’s phase 2 (t5)
So I must have been misreading something.
On a side note I read boost will be available in prepatch which I thought would be out with release so that’s a plus.
They were released in patch 2.1 aka the Black Temple patch.
There were some crappier goggles available in TBC release but the ones people are after such as the Surestrike goggles 2.0, which become a material for the SWP versions, became available at patch 2.1
Correct, Phase 3 should be when it’s released due to this. I might still keep with Engineering for mote farming, but it doesn’t seem like it’s worth it in the end - since you won’t get much use in PvE until P3, and even then there’s better helms by then.
This single change is the worst I have seen so far. If they are going to fix the other professions, don’t penalize engineers. T5 tier helms invalidate the engineering goggles for the most part. It’s a really bad change. I mean, making phased content for TBC in general is a dumb idea since TBC was never meant to be phased content to begin with.
2.1 was the “Here’s all the stuff we didn’t finish before release” patch. TBC was famously super rushed and delayed. Engineering goggles were added because they forgot to finish the engineering profession to make it on par with all the others.
But the op tailoring gear was in the game at the start, and the goggles weren’t
And yet the have made changed to LW and other professions to help keep the professions balanced in terms of viable to prevent one profession from being favored over another to heavily.
Letting engineers have decent goggles at the start would make it more viable early on.
And don’t get me wrong on the “you just want to use them for yourself” because I plan on being a hunter, beast lord helm is better for me than the goggle options I will have. But when I’m out hunting motes, I want the helm to have some decent stats for open world, as I will wear that in the world over beastlord.
I just don’t want to have to make the pure garbage version for mote farming.
