Enemy Player Nameplates not showing

Enemy player nameplates do not appear above player characters even when all nameplates are turned on. They will only appear as your directly target the player.

NPC mobs work just fine. Only fails to show enemy players.

I’m seeing the same thing for both enemy and friendly players.

I can see enemy name plates, but I can’t get friendly name plates to turn on at all. The friendly name plate toggle does nothing. I have no addons installed, got a clean client trying to figure out how to get name plates working. Neither using hot keys or the options menu check boxes is any different, they just don’t respond at all.

I’m having the same problem. I am only able to see nameplates for the player that I have selected. I have “Always Show Nameplates” enabled. Yesterday, it showed all nameplates at all times unless I manually toggled them off, which is what I prefer.

Same issue here. Nameplates only show when I target the enemy player. Npc nameplates work fine.

I can only see enemy player nameplates if I have them targeted. I have turned off nameplate add ons and no difference. No problem with them yesterday. Obviously I’m in warmode b4 that gets asked.

I found the fix thanks to someone in another thread.
/run SetCVar(“nameplatePlayerMaxDistance”, 60)
Even if your cvar is already set to 60, run this. It instantly worked for me!

For once something we all agree on

Same thing I can only see an Enemy health frame if I am targeting them which is not great for doing any kind of PvP content, or even PvE in War Mode for that matter. Has Blizzard at least confirmed that this is a bug and not a new UI change that was intended? (which would be awful if it was)

Same, only showing nameplates of your target even if enabled. Doesn’t appear everyone has the issue.

running
/dump C_CVar.GetCVar(“nameplatePlayerMaxDistance”)

first then
/run SetCVar(“nameplatePlayerMaxDistance”, 60)
