Enemy health scaling is out of control

You mean the quest where your two followers solo everything for you?

I agree. Thatā€™s why itā€™s a good thing there is no scaling based off ilvl.

I havenā€™t checked, the only ones I know for sure are the 80 rare elites, which have had the same ~7.9 mil HP they had as a 530ilvl 70 as a 580 ilvl 80. I do know various elites have different HPs amounts, but they arenā€™t scaling from what Iā€™ve seen.

Except, there is. They put, for the first time ever, iLvl scaling against the leveling experience this very week for this expansion.

And iLvl scaling at max level has existed since Legion for ā€œend gameā€.

Donā€™t know why they had to change it, it was fine before. Leveling isnā€™t supposed to be difficult in wow.

They literally just added that to make it so itā€™s not as face roll for geared 70s.

Did not exist in legion. Ilvl scaling was first used in BfA but there was a big backlash so it wasnā€™t in SL, DF, or TWW.

And itā€™s not difficult now after the changes

7.9 sounds like itā€™s already pretty different from what Iā€™ve seen. Thatā€™s almost a 500k increase over where Iā€™m at!

But here ya go, hereā€™s a visual demonstration. I went ahead and deleted my boots, dropping my ilvl to 534:

Hereā€™s the same rare after restoring my boots, bringing my ilvl back to 574:

The HP increase occurred immediately after I reclaimed them from the mailbox!

Interesting, so there is scaling. That sucks, but itā€™s at a level so low as to not be impactful to any degree.

This is why itā€™s pointless to try to address problems here. Too many people think it ainā€™t happening because it ainā€™t happening to them.

EDIT:

Maybe with some of the game designers, tooā€¦

Well it seems there is scaling after all (see above post), but itā€™s so little as to be functionallly nonexistent.

You mean in your experience? I can tell you that the state of open world content FOR ME is such taht itā€™s no longer fun. Is your ilvl over 550?

Look at the above post. An elites hp went up by 1% but they had 20 more ilvl. Itā€™s functionally nonexistent since that 20 ilvl is typically about a 20-25% increase in damage for the player while the mob only gained 1% more hp.

Theyā€™re wrong. Bliz already confirmed that scaling from 78-80 is completely unchanged from before the tuning, people are just losing their minds over nothing.

Frankly, I donā€™t care what the numbers are, or why it is the way it is. itā€™s not fun for me, and it appears Iā€™m not the only one.

Look, I donā€™t like scaling either. But since itā€™s functionality nonexistent at max level then itā€™s fine.

You mean itā€™s not for youā€¦

Wahtever the reason, questing and killing open world mobs is not fun. Your ilvl again?

ā€¦If youā€™re not going to read, why are you here? Look up, thereā€™s a guy posting proof that both
A. Scaling happens
B. The number change is tiny

That was not happening at all for me. I was getting hit twice before I even got a heal or a sunfire off.

TLDR: someone said that enemies scale to ilvl all the way up to a point until you get epics to crush them

I do the same! I dabble in current expansion content, get tired of having to fight for my life to walk ten feet for the mobs to respawn behind me 5 seconds later, or wait for timegate after timegate to continue a campaign quest or a faction grind. Once itā€™s trivial, and most artificial padding is gone it makes these things a heck of a lot more fun to do.

I have two alts in korthia trying for the cosmetics, one in legion farming the paragon caches, one doing horrific visions and one finishing the Kyrian campaign. Iā€™m sure Iā€™ll be back there soon once I get my first toon to 80 and park her in Dwarftown.
