Endgame tanks in m+

That doesn’t sound right

So it’s just my imagination that I don’t have nearly as much stopping power over caster adds that a Prot Paladin, Prot Warrior, Vengeance Demon hunter, or Blood DK does?

Brewmasters and Guardian Druids have just as little stopping power vs casters in 10’s that they do in 20’s or 15’s or whatever.

This is a class design problem. One that Blizzard continually ignores.

Isn’t that why group comps matter? If Druids and Monks have less stops for casters then you don’t go with a Disc Priest healer and 2 caster DPS.

I agree that BM needs an overhaul, but what that guy was saying it right that the meta doesn’t matter for the large majority of the playerbase.

Nobody cares. There’s always going to be a “best” and they’re always going to be overrepresented in “endgame” stuff where if you’re not the “best” you’re not even “viable”.

Prot Paladins can handle a disproportionate amount of the casters all on their own.

Are you here to just point out the obvious or are you going to touch on something relevant?

Prot Paladins cared a great deal at the start of the expansion, that’s why they threw their Crying Waterworks into overdrive and got massively buffed.

And if it’s not Prot Paladins, they’re going to whine and complain until it is.

If group comp is supposed to handle it, why did Prot Paladins cry so much at the start of the expansion?

Cause people are bad. I was fine with how it was pre-patch and was very vocal about. I’m not going to complain about buffs, but the vast majority of the people crying are just poor performers.

There is a massive disparity in stopping power between the tanks.

Remove Avenger’s Shield, for starters, if things are supposed to be more even.

You are contradicting yourself with all of the points you are bringing up. We had almost all of the same utilities and caster stopping power pre-patch and post. This isn’t why we are meta. Divine Toll even got nerfed from pre to post.

Even with all the the same utilities now vs then, we haven’t been real meta for 3 expansions. All this crying because we are leading 3/4 of a season is ridiculous.

I’d take 3x 3k io dps with no lust over lust with low score players any day.

The trade-off between Paladins’ unsurpassed stopping power and utility is supposed to be less tankiness.

This was unacceptable to Paladins and they whined and complained, so Blizzard buffed their tankiness, with predictable results.

This is a repeating pattern.

Don’t just nerf paladins, crucify them. And then keep them there.

This is where you show your ignorance. We are still less tanky. It’s a fact and supported by logs. The buff we got to mitigation was very minor. Nearly everything listed in the patch notes were things they removed from our talent tree.

Most of it was QoL changes from a talent tree swap around.

Edit: ah you beat me to it in an en edit

Then why did the whining and complaining stop?

Cause I spent hundreds of posts in the Paladin sub shutting them all down

Ah yes, of course.

Again, compared to Warriors, Paladins are far below in terms of mitigation and self-sustain. We became meta for the damage.
