Endgame feels terrible for casuals

It feels bad for all of us, just not casuals lol

I give Shadowlands 2 months max, before I go into logging on once a day for my hour gold farm.

Why do you need mythic end game gear to do the content you plan to do ?

I’m not sure what you expect. You can’t honestly reasonably think that you should be able to get Heroic/Mythic level gear from world quests on the regular…? Right?

Also as far as being ‘done’ with your gear, everyone hits that point. You do enough of the same thing over and over and eventually you get everything it has to offer. It’s just the casual content awards casual level rewards.

If it’s higher item level you want, go do the content that awards higher item level.

I agree, the LFR is very hard for me because I am slower at the game, but it does not give rewards that are worth all the meanness in those groups : (

I’m a filthy, disgusting, haven’t-found-a-legendary- casual that managed heroic N’zoth. I found a group of people who were kind, focused and brought me along. I pulled my weight, adjusted where needed and that was it. The 100% secret to “success” in WoW is finding other people with whom to “gel” with. That’s it. And once you find that group seeing content is easy.

You have to bring your best game face and understanding of what your class brings to the table because that’s exactly what the crew is doing.

Sounds like it’s because they aren’t doing endgame levels of content.

Casuals asked for better gearing and more options and now are flooded with gear. At least in Shadowlands gear rate will drop so acquisition rate falls and it will take longer to achieve “casual BiS”.

Diablo is an ARPG WoW is an MMORPG, they aren’t the same.
Also Diablo requires you increased difficulty rifts for progressive dungeon rewards, just like WoW’s design, do harder challenges, get better rewards.

What designates “non casual content”? Why do you need Mythic raid levels of gear if you have no intention of doing remotely near that difficulty content?
It makes no sense.

Casual players progress through casual content, ie the stuff they do, whether that be standard LFG quality content, past content farming, pet battling etc.
You don’t need mythic gear to collect mounts or transmog or what ever it is you plan do in the LFG queue.

Issue really is how little time it takes to cap out that reward. And with raiders, M+ players, and Altaholics pushing for those rewards to be capped much sooner so they can continue to do what they want. The players that enjoy that content get left in the dust. The amount of enjoyable content gets less and less. Shadowlands will probably only offer a week or so of fun for the average player that is like this. Thanks to all the push to make everything about end-game and all the alts pushing to make things more alt-friendly.

Eh. That’s always been the case though. It’s just unreasonable to expect to be able to do casual content and get high level gear for it.

I’m all for adding more stuff for casuals to do and work towards though.

I don’t think we need gear though.
Grindy quests that give a mount or transmog would be cool.

Maybe not even a quest.
Maybe like do 2000 world quests in a zone gives a cool looking mount.
Ran out of gear you can get from world quests? Still, gotta do them for the giant fire pigeon mount.

There is lots that can be done to make content outside of raids and dungeon relevant without needing to chase gear

The gear gap between top and average has never been worse. That’s one of bfas many failures. Their excuse to take away our legion stats was to balance the game. That didnt work, now they are taking more stats away and it will fail.

I can’t speak for everyone on my side of this, but for me personally that is all I truly want. I want the treadmill to last a little longer for my playstyle. Titanforging did that but that doesn’t have to be the only way, Benthic gear did it as well, but that doesn’t have to be the only way. Just something which offers some level of reward that makes my character stronger as I do the content. It’s just every single time without fail when blizzard does something like that for us. People moan until it’s removed.

I wonder if this would be fixed by having something like benthic gear but instead of increasing in ilvl with each upgrade it gives a buff like “you spells are 10% more powerful in world content” then “your spells are 20% more powerful in world content”

That way no one can moan its required for their raiding

I’d be happy with it personally. I mean mostly. Would suck if it became useless in your LFD/LFR, because I like that type of content too. But yeah it’s a great start.

Sorry OP but you just want good “stuff” for casual gameplay.

Suppose they do put mythic gear for sale but put an insanely high price for it. They introduce a new currency to purchase, but to buy a single gear, you will have to grind say 500 dungeons.

You will be here again complaining. When did acquiring “high gear” become an end game for anyone? Gear is for some reason. What would you do with Mythic gear when you intend to play only “casual”?

Okay. Now you’re scaring me. :stuck_out_tongue:

what if instead of it being a set of gear, its someone who will upgrade any gear.
So you go into LFR, get a good chest piece, and then start upgrading it.
So the buffs are useless in raids still but you still have motivation to go into raids.

Perfect really, I mean for people like myself I assume we just want gear for world content and queable content.

I wouldn’t even mind if they added specific LFD only gear that only provides a bonus while in heroics or normals since I like doing heroics too. But the rewards dry up way too quick for casual content.

I have to disagree. All of my alts are easily at 470 by doing mythics alone and prior to this xpact there hadn’t been a way to easily obtain gear because it was all set to tiers and not just that but specific class tiers. There are no class restrictions on gear and if I want to swap “mains”, I can easily do that. I can tank, heal, or (heaven forbid) dps if I want.

edit: “all” my alts, as in the ones I actually play content. The other 25 are for mog runs :joy:
