Endgame experience

I’ve been raid logging on my main for a while now only raiding to try to improve my parses and get some of the tiny upgrades I need.

I decided to level and gear a resto shaman, to give me something to do ingame and play a role I haven’t played before.

After 5 days /played, grinding professions, enjoying the journey and playing the dps specs while healing dungeons, I finally got to 80 ready to invest some time into gearing.

I’m still off work over Christmas/New years so I was ready to grind!

I didn’t want the experience of gearing/raiding to be impacted by having my guild carry me so I decided to do it the old fashioned way and pug!

Starting in heroics and having some luck with drops hitting 3300gs after 2-3 days, applied to a 10 Naxx/EoE/OS and got the desperate invite for my lust, ez game.

3800gs now, ezzzzzz.

Then moved onto a 25 naxx/EoE/os after snagging a few more pieces of loot.

And well,

Long story short, after 1 reset the shaman is @ 4100gs

Annnnnd I’m back to raid logging

So uh yeah, ulduar when? Guess I’m starting another alt :weary:

(Inb4 cool story, who asked etc)

People are on vacation, let’s wait until Monday to get people back

Sticking to 1 main this time around. Had too many active toons on Retail and TBCC for years.

I’m casually playing a few lower levels, hunter, paladin, warrior & rogue, but I’m not “aiming” to get them to 80. If I get them to 80, cool. So be it.

I’m a healer. I’m a good/strong healer in my raid team. I keep coming every week to clear all 25 raids in 3 hour raid time. Others bring their alts etc, but someone needs to keep “carrying” to an extend.
I’m 3 items short of BIS. 226 wrists from OS 3D, 226 belt from EoE and 213 offhand from Spider Max.

Got all reps to exalted. Working on other achievements that I’ve never done before.

Been playing less lately. Allows me to do a lot of work around the new house.

You kind of answered your own problem. Nice blog post I guess.

Worry about getting out of the starting area first.
:axe:

THIS IS exactly what I’ve talked about in a prior post. I see no reason to rush leveling because 80 comes quick enough and very soon after hitting 80, you’ll be raid logging on your main and alt. For me personally, I’m struggling to find things to do. I can level all the alts I want but end of the day, I think they just made WoTLK too alt friendly. It’s so quick and easy to works towards literally anything, that there’s nearly nothing to engage in long term. Gold is easy to come up with, exalted with all factions is quick to get too, you can go from 2.3k-4k gs in at little as 3 lockouts give or take, and the pvp scene is a joke, further made worse by locked servers. Bots control BG’s and most servers you struggle to find a competent arena partner…Sooooo what do I do? Level another alt? Do it all again and be back to square 1 in 6 weeks? Unfortunately new phases doesn’t fix that either, I’ll still only just be logging in to raid.

You been in wotlk starting area since it launched.

I see that now, I had thought it would’ve taken much longer to gear.

I did get 10 items in my alts first naxx 25 though and it just has nullified everything else in a single lock out

I mean, I’m not mad - atleast I’ve got a reasonably geared healer now, I just thought it was gonna take more effort

Forum alts are forum alts,

I’m happy to post my main/alt, I’ve never professed to be the greatest player so idm.

Will you post your main though or?

Nah you have it right. Lots of people are raid logging. Nothing wrong with that. It’s good to play other games and not be all in to just one.

Hopefully you’re in a fun and populated guild. My guild plays other games together too.

This will happen again at the end of the Ulduar phase. :grinning:

I’m abit quirky in that I cannot physically play (focus) on more than 1 game at a time unfortunately, I’ve never been able to.

I can’t even play retail and classic at the same time.

Idk, too few brain cells ig :joy:

Lol what about like non mmo stuff? Like Valheim or Factorio? Single play stuff that pauses when you stop playin. What other types of games do you like?

I hope after i can get my last two 25 man achieves… and 3d 10man achieve >.>…

wrath was always a weak expansion.

wrath babies remember it kindly because they started playing in it.

Your experience was easily predictable. The ease of the raid content, paired with the over abundance of badge gear, plus the way the raids bury you under an avalanche of loot, there was no other scenario that could possibly have played out besides everyone being bored.

I’ve just reached 80 during Christmas, been leveling really slow, and I’m already 3.3 gs after a bunch of heroics. To be honest, I enjoy the pace. It might not be very sustainable to fill gaming the sessions forever, but I like it that I can reach my peak fast and take a break.

I started playing in 2005 and to me, Wrath was a great expansion.

Ahh, but that’s not what Blizzard wants for you, is it. They don’t want you to gear too quickly. Tsk, tsk.

Allowing players to gear quickly and then take a break is a pretty bad business model for a subscription based game.

I pretty well only play RPGs.

And I do unsub from time to time and sink my teeth into a good RPG.

But if I’m doing that, it’s only that

I need to be fully immersed in the story/character progression

Idk, I’m a weirdo.

I definitely overestimated how much I’d enjoy a “relaxing T7 environment” after SWP, but I’m looking forward to at least Ulduar and ICC. We will see how ToGC goes.
