END War Mode!

You realize the assaults themselves weren’t PvP, right? They were PvE events, just skinned as Horde vs Alliance. There was nothing in the event that required you to do PvP.

We’ve had “assaults” since then, just reskinned as something else. It literally is just PvE events that draw people in to do them, which we’ve had in SL and DF. We’ve had The Hunt areas, Fyrakk Assaults, Dreamsurge event, etc. in the difference DF zones.

That’s pretty much all the BfA assaults were.

Nah man, I just wanna say now, you’re full of it. Dragonflight added the most world WPvP stuff to do since BfA. They added WPvP currency, WPvP tier set gear, and WPvP weekly quest, as well as bringing over everything introduced in BfA with bounties and crates.

You’re just on a dead server, face it. The thing that kills War Mode is sharding and that’s it. That’s all Blizzard needs to do, fix the sharding. Obviously, it wouldn’t hurt for them to add more content to War Mode, but PvP servers ain’t it.

Currently have two pvp areas in every zone.

Bounties.

Crates.

Weekly sparks quest to kill players or do things in warmode.

i remember back in bc days there were tons of wpvp. like horde attacking ashenvale. that fight would last for hours.

I dont think people understand that it is more this than anything else.

If people wanted to gather up and sink hours in to fighting, they could go do it right now. But

  • We dont have the time we used to, or are unwilling to put the time in to that.
  • And most people dont actually want that anymore.

Warmode or not.

The middle aged moms and dads playing in vanilla weren’t either. They’ve actually employed psychology to make us play more than we did then.

No… lol. People run to safe zones. That was the point of a pvp server. You had to fight. War mode killed the danger of being in the world. That’s, what made it fun. Survival. People not wanting to be in the fight found themselves in the fights when PvP servers were alive and well. Hijacking this thread with “dead server” doesn’t help.

Crates and PvP wq that are pointless doesn’t bring people out to fight. When they get their tokens they leave and go back to pve land.

Assaults were a combination of quests and a wpvp zone to fight, they were good. Dragonflight did introduce wpvp gear, which was an exceptional idea. But now we have wpvp gear with no bonus.

We honestly need some pvp servers to come back so those of us that enjoy it can go there.

You need to be playing Classic.

Wont lie, I kinda miss when servers were their own communities, so when you saw other players, you knew who they were mostly. Sharding does reduce server load so thats good but still you lose that sense of this is my server. But that was … a long time ago now.

And no. We have all been there, done that. Dont make excuses for a huge issue with the game, one in which the devs refuse to address. A lot of pve players get on this thread and scream about how everything is fine and so forth. WoW isnt great because of the dungeons or raids… its great because of players getting to interact with each other, a big huge open world where we can all do things together. War mode really ruins the survival aspect of open world fighting.

Make the open world less safe! LET THE ALLIANCE FIGHT THE HORDE!

I mean it quite literally is “dead server” in your case. If you’re complaining there’s no one to fight, you’re on a dead server shard group, because there’s a lot of people to fight in War Mode at the moment.

Admittedly, Blizzard does a terrible job at sharding. We’ve all known this, and that’s one of the biggest reasons why War Mode will often feel dead. No one’s saying they don’t want this fixed.

…except you forget that there were safe zones on PvP servers.

Are we forgetting faction territories and contested territories? If an Alliance was in Elwynn Forest or Stormwind, which is Alliance Territory, they weren’t PvP flagged by default. This was their safe zone until they decided to attack someone with PvP enabled. You were only flagged at all times in contested territories. Sanctuaries still existed too.

I guess we’re also gonna forget when cross realm zone was introduced to the game and someone on a PvP server could be invited by someone on a PvE server and they were safe now. :person_shrugging:

War mode is the reason I refuse to play retail anymore. PvP servers should have never been taken out as an option

This is exactly what we need. This would be fun.

Half the fun of a dungeon run was fighting your way to the entrance

90% of your issues are because you are on a dead/unmotivated server group.
And you know I know this to be true because I was there.

If you play Horde on just about any other server group, you will not be able to take crates or do anything in warmode without being jumped by about 20-30 alliance.

So yeh, when you’re yelling all this other stuff, it makes you look crazy, because that is not the reality majority of us play in. It invalidates any rational thought you might have, which aint much.

Nah, even warmode on tich can be slow. If you compare retail tich to CS on SoD, CS will be better every time. And it’s lower pop

Yeah, sure, once again, depending on your shard. Only time I find War Mode to be “slow” is on non-active times and when I have a dead shard. Often times a simple shard change will fix that (LFG or friends to invite me)

Compare most servers in War Mode that aren’t RP or Oceanic to CS and War Mode beats CS. Mind you, too, that SoD has less sharding (or layering) than Retail.

Again, all dependent on shards, which is something everyone here who plays War Mode would like to see changed. This isn’t a “removal of PvP servers killed WPvP” issue, it’s a “there’s too much separation of players and sharding” issue that kills WPvP.
