I did Korthia on 14 toons, and enjoyed doing it! Same goes for ZM, also enjoyed it! Thats what solo players do, enjoy the content, get rewards, just like you raiders.
Thats because they made it so you needed gear from grouped content! If they made it self contained, it would have been a big hit! But nope, they Blizzed it all up!
Fact is this company has not strayed far from its bro-fisting, office-crawling roots. Look at the IPs across ActiBlizz and they all have one thing in common: sweat. No-lifing is the only way to stay even remotely competitive.
ActiBlizz cares about casual players as much as it cares about its employees.
FFXIV doesnât try to totally reset gear every tier / season while supporting a bunch of concurrent modalities and difficulty levels.
Part of the issue with gear in WoW is tied to the developers trying to support and separate power between too many difficulties and modalities, as well as trying to hard reset gear each season to keep players on the treadmill.
They could start lessening the power gaps by combining some of the overlap such as combining normal, heroic, non-affix mythic dungeons, and combining lfr and normal raiding.
Further gaps could be closed by narrowing the power difference between difficulties, as well as getting rid of hard resets between seasons.
For gear between different types of content, either just let those that want to do 10000 things gear faster and ignore the âbut I donât want to M+ to raid or raid to M+â types, or start further separating gear similar to the PVP system such that raid gear is best in raids, M+ in M+, etc.
Iâm not asking for WoW to turn into a solo experience, even though that has been my preferred way of things the last year or so. I guess I failed to get my point across.
My point is, all the updates, good communication, more things to do in FF is what I want in the WoW universe.
Yeah I donât agree with that either. Two or three nights a week at about three hour intervals is all you really need as long as you spend your time wisely. A good guild can help expedite this even more, but that would require actually talking to other people.
Raiding isnât going to be a pillar for long given the lack of testing of raiding on DF beta. M+ is going to really make a strong case for becoming the new pillar.
BlizZard made a lot of announcements for raiding but not enough showed up from simple observation.
Raid or die hasnât really been true for WoW technically since vanilla. Badge gear was introduced in BC.
The closest to raid or die post vanilla was WoD. But even then epics rained down from Ashran and garrison mission quests so that wasnât really raid or die. WoD in fact was super friendly to both hardcore and casual players in terms of gearing.
WoD isnât considered a trash expansion by PVP players or raiders. Only players I see complaining about WoD was solo players. BlizZard addressed that with legion world quest revamp, epic quest gear from world quests and the possibility of ttanforging but that was short lived.
And yes back during the WotK, Cata and MoP era solo content was more rewarding. Ease of travel (flying), quest hubs offering an abundance of gold relative to time investment, crafting and professions being relevant, etc.
WoD set the open world content and reward structure back with the introduction of the garrisons.
WQ timers are staggered and not consistent like a daily (24 hours). Also WQ were sold as offering more options when introduced in legion but BlizZard nerfed the entire point of having a world quest system over a daily system with systemlands. They nerfed the world quest system but limiting the number of world quests on the map. And the few world quests on the map offer very little rewards compared to BFA or legion.
Systemlands was WoD 2.0 in the open world and DF is treading toward that direction as well.
BlizZard chose to not make it like visions. Which is fine but they needed to allow other rewards beyond gearing if they decided no gearing for it.
So what? You still get a ton of them. At least in this current system itâs not the same ones every single day.
There is no difference in the number of WQ offered in Legion, BFA or Shadowlands. And the gear rewards for all three became meaningless once you hit a certain ilevel, but they were still worth doing for the gold and resources. Itâs why I still do callings on my main even though I out leveled the open world ages ago.
