End the war on solo gameplay in WoW

I’d say the hardest thing is just finding good players to play with and not the mode itself.

The rng is there but it’s still a net positive in whatever you get in solo stuff. Even when you aren’t getting anything you get to use valor to upgrade your old gear, and no artificial timegating like world content had where they had to wait months to be able to upgrade to 226 and 233 and pay like 13 k research to be able to even do that.

I would say its harder to do something like a 12 torgast run with 200 gear, yet you get nothing for that then a head ache. The more gear you get the easier things become and the easier it is to get more gear.

Maybe so, but i am not in the mood to play the vault RNG lottery neither. Its a waste or much more time than even a grind tbh. But whatev, me and a few friends are looking for another game after 17 years of playing this one.

Has Blizz mentioned what percentage of the player base engages in SL endgame? I’m pretty certain they haven’t as that’s the kind of thing people would talk about. So since they haven’t said it then neither you nor OP know what Blizz is seeing :man_shrugging:

I describe myself as a parallel-player myself for PVE, although I do roleplay for true social group content. I do my stuff, but other people are around that I can help, or see out doing their thing. I can show off my pets and mounts that I’ve collected to my friends, who I frequently gift with the spoils of my most onerous solo grinds that I know they’ll never bother with.

I like to be able to get my solo grindy zen content done in a timely manner because I’m an adult with a full-time job and want to be able to spend time hanging out in the city pretending to be a Draenei when I’m done, but Blizzard in their infinite wisdom has decided that gear progression should be shot in the kneecaps by implementing iLvl scaling, so I need to get gear that’s above the curve so that I’m not whacking on mobs with pointlessly huge HP pools for a million years to get my stuff done.

The only, THE ONLY way that I’m okay with it is if outdoor world content and LFR can be expediently done with the max iLvl offered by solo content.

I have been pugging a dungeon a week on each of my characters. It is just miles better power rewards gains then anything you do solo.

Yeah, TG should have had rewards like visions.

Correct. I think we both got a little misguided on this. I was talking strictly about doing the legendaries yourself. Gathering the mats yourself and all that fun jazz. No other player interaction required.

And as such, to acquire a legendary, I’m deleting money from the game by buying mats from vendors. Which is equivalent to repair costs. Money goes to vendor and is deleted from the game.

Right, but that’s assuming everyone wants to advance is what I’m saying, which is why I said it’s dependent on how far into the grouping content you wish to go.

Just going into m0 for example, which is group content and rewards group content gear, gives a lower reward than Korthia (which is solo play)

There are sites that scrape achievement data, though.

https://cyberpost.co/warcraft/only-10-of-active-world-of-warcraft-players-participate-in-raids/

" Looking at the data about the characters, we can conclude that only 10-20% of active players in 9.1 participate in raids (8-10% in heroic)."

Welp, even making my own group, i couldnt get enough to do a M0. So there goes that idea. Tried pugging many times, but because of player gating, i couldnt even get in a M+2 even though i can face stomp the place!

this is designed to force solo players to buy carries with tokens.

Much more horrible ones. Visions gave you upgrades in like 19 slots. Torgast only 2, way less pets/transmogs, a currency you need… to be able to craft a legendary which comes with a huge gold cost, and its tuned around high ilvl which you don’t get unless you do group content.

Visions overall was a better experience, because it gave you gear you could uncorrupt and progress in without needing to do any raid or mythic. Torgast for solo players was like… lol go do korthia and come back once your done farming those rares and you can finally unlock those 226/223 awards a few months in.

Visions had more power rewards and gave you a free legendary. Visions>torgast by miles.

If this turns out to be the case, I’ll turn in my Toon(s) and head for greener pastures. I know my leaving won’t make a difference to Blizz, but to me it will.

Just wait till the vast majority of players find out. That new zone will be dead not even a week in, or when they finally get that piece of gear and see the less than half the ilvl upgrade of Korthia gear after the grind.

I wont be there long thats for sure. If at all really. Hoping to find a diff game.

Yes, clearly the response of players who want higher ilvl gear from the zone will be to not do anything at all and stay at ilvl 233.

Loot, rewards in general have sucked this expansion.
This team sucks in making games I feel like.

But they have no war on solo gameplay.
They have constantly tried to accommodate us plebs.

They just suck at solo orientated gameplay or just want to push you into group content because it being an MMO, they want you socializing etc but this game’s community is a large cesspool so hard to do that.

That’s fine, but it still isn’t Blizzard.

Also, poor wowranks, rest in peace

You were great while you were with us

Yeah, this really has underpinned the loot problem across the board.

Nobody anticipated that “let loot be loot” meant “enjoy scrounging for scraps”.

I think that sounds brilliant. I might even do it then. The details on what, if anything, it rewarded would need to be fleshed out, but I think it’s a great idea.

I think ff does solo dungeons already (generates you a npc team for the story). I think them doing a solo raid would be nice. LFR most annoying thing is the other players.

It’s SoulsoBreezy 40 minute clip on Casuals (what he really means solos) deserve more respect by the developers.

Points are opinion based and so your thoughts are different than mine. You acting like you are the keeper of good points only shows you true character.

I won’t change your opinion and you won’t change mine.

A big point mentioning though is he knows he will get little views from this clip due to the fact that the overwhelming majority of solos don’t go watch streams or go to GD to complain. It’s the vocal minority that drive up viewership and so streamers will make content to suit the vocal. It’s also the vocal minority that shout down the rest.

I’d say we had a tail wagging the dog situation, but the patients are already running the madhouse. I spent quite a bit of time in Vanilla Alpha and Beta speaking my piece on keeping the game casual, solo friendly with progressive systems in place.

The widening gap in power progression is sure to steepen the death spiral this game is already in.
