WOW is always dying because people want different things. If it was “crap”, I wouldn’t be playing it.
Bring back 40 man raids cause Vanilla was the best!

End the war on solo gameplay, just make them relevant.
Get ride of Group loot.
Quit hurting your players
There’s literally about 100 things people can list off that gives the perception that you do not value players time. And until Activision is gone and done soul sucking you Blizzard, I feel you will not return to the right path going forward.
People don’t know what they want. The minute they have everything, they’re back to complaining that they have nothing to do.
Yes, I was hoping that going from SL to DF would be like going from WoD to Legion.
DF not having secondary power systems to grind is fine. But it doesn’t have much actual content for casual, solo, or open world players.
Legion had a new, robust world quest and emissary system, and 12 class order hall campaigns.
BfA had island expeditions and robust open world content.
Shadowlands had covenant content and Torghast.
DF has…. Dragon Riding and crafting? Neither of which are gameplay features. Primalist Invasions are more of a mob grind and the gear rewards are going to be a joke.
No one is saying to remove Mythic raiding or M+ keys that scale infinitely higher. The presence of competitive group content doesn’t hurt anyone. We are OK with your rewards being better, too, but the 39+ iLvl gap we will see in DF is nothing more than an insult.
Forced Group Loot even in LFR is a bad move. WoW devs are trying to create more friction for solo players and stretch out progression for all players, but it will surely backfire.
Praisers of Group Loot clearly don’t understand how probability works.
The best gear should come from solo content. Mythic+ and raids should award mounts, cosmetics and titles only. End the slavery to meta and gatekeepers.
Remember that the game swings to your extreme currently. It shouldn’t be difficult to carry people.
This would be interesting—it would be like Shadowlands in reverse. Solo content like Torghast would offer gear progression, while the three pillars would be for fun only. Let the group content players be told they don’t “need” gear upgrades for their content, and prove once and for all that they are doing their content for the challenge.
End the war on solo game play before it is too late!
If the best gear came from solo content, while M+ and Raids awarded the mounts, cosmetics and titles, we would see if people really enjoyed the “harder” content or not. And when the numbers of players, doing raiding and M+, drop like a rock, (because they will), perhaps WoW can start focusing on making group content more fun.
I still don’t want to be forced into doing group stuff for gear, which is why I am hoping this new profession pillar works as intended.
WHUT?
??? for the 10 characters
Truth be told its their game, they can do whatever they want with it. Player feedback is crucial to any MMO, so don’t go pointing a finger until you know more.
Imagine whining about a set of pixels. These people are unbelievable
Ill just leave this here:
Blizzard had over 10 million players SUBSCRIBED to this game BEFORE they added in any of these solo activities. BEFORE they added random dungeon finder, BEFORE they added LFR.
Over the course of the first 7 years of the games lifespan, the subscribers GREW by MILLIONS each year, WITHOUT the solo activities you are whining and begging for.
So yeah, I think Blizzard could do just fine catering to their original player base instead of some whiny, entitled kids who think they deserve mythic level raid gear for killing boars in the open world.
This is a complete misunderstanding of data and the market for MMOs. This is like saying because millions of people used to call each other on landlines in the 90s people don’t actually want cell phones.
At least you took the time to explain. I just kinda shook my head like, whatever dude.
“Because WOW had it’s greatest numbers during Wrath 12-14 years ago and because I feel that is when the game was most solo friendly that means players in 2022 don’t want a multiplayer experience.”
Sound a lot like the solo player crowd’s arguments?
Hey bud, i got a question for ya. What was Original WoW’s solo experience? Because it was only leveling solo. It wasn’t doing crappy world quests, or instanced solo content. The only “solo content” was leveling to 60 solo. News flash, the game was never made for something that didnt exist. SOLO CONTENT WASNT THE POINT OF WoW. Yeah. I said it. Cope, Seethe, Mald.
After having read two mega-threads concerning this “issue”, People seem to either whine or feel entitled to gear. You are owed NOTHING. Just cause you pay a sub doesnt mean youre instantly gonna not gonna put in less work than us raiders or M+ players. You want the better gear? Do the harder content. Dont want it? Dont do it. But dont you DARE try to play the victim cards and all that. Yall need to touch grass and go outside.
That was the whole game at the time. It took a long time and it took even longer to save up for epic flying. Especially when all you did at end game was fish and farm drops to sell on the AH.
Questing was all most WoW players ever did. They’d level, get to cap, start going for their epic mount, and quit. Some would come back, some wouldn’t.
I knew hundreds of other WoW players during vanilla. A handful of them dabbled in raiding, but the vast majority of them did not. Raiding was already old hat by then. EQ and FFXI had extensive raids at end-game, and some people liked it, but most people didn’t come here for that.
WoW was marketed as the “solo friendly MMO” where you could reach level cap all by yourself. That, combined with the success of WarCraft II and III were the driving factors behind WoW’s early success.
I’m owed my money’s worth, and I aim to get it.
You don’t put in any work. You rely on other people to compensate for your profound weakness - weakness imposed upon you by Blizzard, because they design the encounters to force you to struggle and fail when you are alone. Only a large group of nothings like you can pull it off. I’m not into that. I prefer to feel like a living god, and so, I only run raids after I can easily solo them. That is much closer to the gameplay experience I enjoy.
I’ll take it, but I don’t really care.
Never. I would rather watch you waste away from a curable disease than do anything remotely challenging in any video game.
Nope.
I’m not.
I’ll play whatever cards I feel like playing, and there ain’t a damn thing you can do about it.
You need to mind your own business and manage your own life. Grown folks are talking to a megacorp in this thread. Nobody asked for your input.
Get lost.
If that’s the case, then dont ruin the fun of other’s by forcing your fun down our throats.
Literally everone and their mom are talking in this thread. You aint my mom. So shuddup. Also, I love the fact you try to move away from what the post is actually about rather than talk about it. Its almost like your whining and moaning is just… well… whining and moaning.
Yes it was. The fact you could solo with any class to get to max level. During that time in MMO history, that was crazy.
And the end game. Players had less content as do now sure, but we did not have wow tokens, and farming gold and playing the AH became the soloers end game.
