End the war on solo gameplay in WoW (Part 1)

We got to start some where since i do have mythic gear at 235. Well,at least that what blizz refer to as.

Most raiders want someone who knows the fight. Because the dps is better than someone fully geared and not knowing the fights. Low dps is better than no dps at the end of the raid. And if you have a good group you won’t be kicked.

You could start somewhere by jumping into normal and learning the fights. At this point in the tier, it’s probably impossible to not clear normal.

If i want to do the raids I would do as i normally do and that is study the mess out of it,though there is a problem with it Lfr is not as complex as normal and heroic even more so. Even if i learned it that is pretty much a guessing game going past normal, tricky as anything.

Then do them. You say they are so easy. Get in a raid and do it. That’s the part I don’t get. You talk about how easy content that you don’t even do is. I don’t get it.

Oh I didn’t say they were easy ,nothing is in wow there is always a trick the play on the player.

Ok I misinterpreted what you said. That’s my bad.

What does this even mean? Is it even a sentence?

Exactly, and if it doesn’t in this next coming patch I’ll be unsubscribed until the new expansion, but even then I won’t buy until I’m absolutely sure solo play is available to me as it is now

Of course. If you cannot upgrade your gear any further, you can enjoy your geared toon or start an alt.

But be careful not to complain too loudly about having nothing to do, or you will end up with a secondary progression system like Corruption or Domination Shards again. Devs actually listen to raiders.

Whether scaling is in effect or not, getting better gear will help players in the open world pull more mobs or kill rares more quickly.

And the types of players who started this thread have made it clear that they need their gear for more than just outdoor questing, it is for literally any content in the game.

Should the game also stop raiders from getting a higher item level than they actually need to clear raids? No. They deserve to clear more quickly and safely over time.

But those bonuses will be useless to everyone in all content outside of ZM. And you wouldn’t want to do ZM again and again on all your alts like you would an actual gearing system.

I am curious as to whether people will stick around in ZM after getting flying and double leggos. Korthia at least has multiple reward systems for keeping a variety of players coming back (gear, anima, renown, conduit upgrades, Stygian Embers, Korthite crystals, etc.)

I didn’t have raid gear on a handful of my characters I completed them on. You didn’t need it, the raid gear just happened to made it easier.

Although in terms of solo-content that rewards relatively good quality gear & rewards, I feel the best content that achieved this would had been ‘The Timeless Isles’.

The Timeless Isle of MoP 5.4 was one of the most well liked zones in WoW’s history. It had its own gearing system and a World Boss with a couple of unique transmogs, and another weekly boss event that had a chance of dropping PvP gear. The Isle also had a ton of toys, pets, mounts, rares, and treasures. But raiders were not required to go there for their power progression except if they wanted a quick World Boss kill for a shot at Normal loot.

WoW devs have tried again and again to recreate the magic of the Timeless Isle throughout the years. But unfortunately, the 9.2 devs aren’t even going to try to give Zereth Mortis any gearing system for casuals and alts like that. In the Shadowlands, Korthia will end up being the closest thing to the Timeless Isle.

Agreed. Solo content gear is for filling in pieces while you wait for drops in multiplayer content and to catch-up gearing alts so they can do multiplayer content. Once again people just want the entire world (of warcraft) to change so that it suits your needs. If you want higher ilvl gear, do multiplayer content; you now have incentive to do so.

Hmm, there were some raiders (Achievement hunters for instance) that were required to go there for their power progression. For instance, when my guild were clearing raids for achievements and wanted to run on alts to push the successions of them - we sent people there to get the Timeless gear for a catch up, given it was pretty damn decent gear & packed quite the punch to slip into the rhythm of things rather quickly.

I believe if they used decent resources and a good amount of effort, they could easily make an achievable zone in similarities towards the Timeless Isle. Like I said in another thread though – Sadly in BFA & Shadowlands it seems they’ve slacked off on putting reasonable effort & resources into a broader range of things due to riding on the whole ‘Minimum effort = Maximum profit ’ copium cash cow ‘business idea’ - Although in the long run - it’s clearly shown that given mindset doesn’t match up in the entertainment business industry perspectives, further on.

Although like many have pointed out, I don’t believe solo content should provide better gear than group content (especially raiding) in an MMO game. Timeless Isle was great since it provided adequate gear to keep up near the packing punches sure, but certainly not on par & beyond - aside from a very few rare occasions throughout the game, that were relatively forgivable.

What you said? The reverse.

Very few MMOs have what WoW has. There are many solo-heavy MMOs nowadays like SWTOR, FFXIV, New World, etc, but WoW is unique in having Mythic+ and 20-man raids. That is its greatest and most consistent strength in the current market. WoW succeeded by breaking the mold and continues to succeed and be #1 in the market by continuing to break the mold rather than falling back into the pattern of less successful MMOs.

If you are a crafter you will probably be farming the zone for the new recipes and crafting reagents. So its going to be a source of gold. Gotta farm that faction on all your profession toons for the recipes to sell the new legendaries. And there are catch up tokens for new toons. You will have reasons to go to ZM.

The main complaint is the power rewards are horrible. As a collector ZM seems good a whole bunch of transmog, pets and mounts to collect. But as a solo player
its just horrible power rewards compared to the rest of the game. You are better off ignoring the gear aspect and pugging mythics for your gear progression like in Korthia. If you have bad rng maybe you will want to fill a slot or two. New legendaries will be around 291 ilvl? That’s definetly something you’ll want to get on your characters for a last patch since the content lul will be the longest, gear will matter for the longest.

Everyone’s got the same access to stuff, that’s all the sub buys.

Quick morning bump in case devs are still working on 9.2/under the hood in the guts of the game

If the raids are set without any version they would be easier method to do ,they’re not.
