PvP boosting is not a victimless crime. Make it against ToS and introduce account closures for it. This boosting turns new players away, and demotivates even veterans.
In a real life Chess tournament, you can not pay a grandmaster to sit in your chair and crush your opponents to rise to 2400 rating.
In real life boxing you can’t simply hire a Heavyweight to one punch your Welterweight opponent and rise the ranks.
WoW has a tournament scene with money involved, clean up the ladder and purge the paid boosting completely.
Right now you can watch an AWC stream, feel an itch to play, login to the game, queue up arena, then get crushed by actual AWC players selling boosts for real money or gold, or for twitch subs. Season 4 has felt especially bad for this, have literally seen as high as 2395cr / 3.5k xp players against me at 1650cr on my alt DH… This shouldn’t be a thing.
Have some pride in your game please Blizzard. End the PvP boosting specifically - I could care less about people selling +15 keys - selling PvE doesn’t directly effect other players like getting killed in 30 seconds by players that they shouldnt be facing in the first place.
The only thing these “boosts are bad for the game” posts are doing is helping the community identify the career challengers without them ever having to say anything or log in to the game.
“Tell me you’re a challenger without telling me you’re a challenger” is so poignant with these posts. You guys have to stop. Almost no one is “boosting” and the 1/100 games where you run in to one isn’t why your boomer *** is hardstuck 1600 I promise.
homie you got 2100 in 2s on a survival hunter in season 3 of shadowlands (kekw) and are career 1700 on every other class in the game like did you honestly just ask me to go check that when I already knew by the content of your post.
Clearly your a booster threatened by my original post so you resort to bullying, most my toons got 1800 last season so stop lying through your teeth - in fact my dragonflight boost priest is my only toon not to get 1800 lol.
Also, only season I got duelist as survival was BFA S4 - the rest was done as BM or Unholy (2s) / Frost DK (3s).
I don’t care about boosting really but there are a lot of different people spamming wts arena boosts all day on my server. Anecdotally I see a lot of boosted players applying for low cr games with high rated gear.
Seems weird to outright deny it happening
Yeah if it was 1 in 100 I wouldn’t care so much. When you queue into the same booster 4 times in a row, or more specifically season 4 where 20% of games are high cr carrying low cr boost games, it gets old real fast.
And in any legitimate real life competition for kids regional qualifiers for basketball a tall adult like that would never be allowed to participate. Pay to win PvP needs to go. The spirit of competition and earning rewards needs to come back.
Even if boosting is overstated, perception is reality and we’ll never know how many players give up and leave for good because they fell victim to a Pikaboo game at 1500 right after getting 1-shot by a 8/9 MM hunter.
Dragonflight gearing will make a huge dent in the problem, even if it’s only one of perception, but you sitting here and making fun of this guy for his lack of a 2700 achievement is just the icing on the sh*t cake that is the modern day arena junkie community.
Besides, who are you; a forever duelist, to be making fun of anyone?
More players mean more MMR in the system. More MMR in the system means inflation which might net you a gladiator title or two.
90% of boosts are people paying someone in gold to get them their 1800/2100 for gear, a significant portion of that will go away in DF. The other 10% are Ret Paladins buying Glad so they can ego people in random BGs, then put you on ignore when you look up their ratings trends on Drustvar and call them out for it.
Boosting really isn’t nearly as big an issue as you think it is.
Boosting is a huge issue don’t tell me what I have experienced. Not a pvp session goes by without 3-5 encounters with boosters. check-pvp showing 2.7-3.5k xp on the high gear player carrying a low gear player happens every single session of PvP I queue in the range of 1600-2100. There is never a day I look back at the games without that salty experience of boosters souring it.
the only players left playing are people with glad exp and people with no exp. very small portion of players are inbetween. so ya when you look them up they will have atleast 1 glad becus they r arena players lol. why is that surprising to you that the people playing right now are old time players ?
say i’m bored on my alt warrior, click on the lfg tab and find the closest healer to my cr (usually 300 rating lower) and we q up and win some games. am i a booster? or am i just trying to play my alt for fun ? there is definitely no malice intended
you say high rated players are out of touch of what the lower bracket is like but come on lol gain some perspective as well
If both players are 2700+ xp sure thing, smurfing. But when it’s a 1300xp with a 2700xp with 1000cr difference I am not going to assume anything but boosting.
