End Faction "War" And Join Ranks?

You’re free to disagree, but you’re wrong lol.
People want to play with their friends and not all of their friends want to be on the same factions.
It would actually help grow the player base.

Sounds like someone who never actually played them.

You might have the occasional troll, but nowhere near as much as people think.

I don’t feel like I have a faction in WoW. The Horde has been smacked with the villain bat and I’m fighting alongside Jaina or Wrathion or Magni or even Anduin to deal with threats to this world.

Last expansion I worked with Tyrande and Malfurion and helped them. I was working with Night Elves to deal with the Legion. Why do they have to be NPCs? Why can’t I group with Alliance players instead to deal with the threats I’m fighting alongside NPCs already for?

This is why they should stop with the pretense of opposing factions and go through with what is already obvious

I just want to interact with the other half of the player base outside of just pvp

Why are you mentioning the obvious (that there are immature people on both sides) when I didn’t specify which side said it? Are you reading between lines or something?

And it’s not a matter of taking them seriously or not. It’s a matter of not facilitating the means for that to happen in the first place.

Oh it’s nice to deal with someone that resorts to insults on the first response.
Very classy.

And other MMOs are other MMOs. WoW is WoW, and factions have been a thing since the beginning.

if you want WoW to turn into another MMO then maybe…

Ah yes, in a MMORPG, distinctions don’t matter, only in PvP.

I guess this is what happens when blizzard rushes to your aid when you deal with queues the other half of the population always dealt with :woman_shrugging:

How do you know that they are a minority, that’s what I asked.

Good thing you can level both factions in the same realm. That’s been the case for many years now and hey, leveling will be faster with Shadowlands.

Dazar’alor?

There’s nothing stopping you from making a Horde alt.

When people really want to play with their friends, they roll the same faction, if not, is not really a big deal.

It wouldn’t grow the playerbase as Horde and Alliance as part of the warcraft brand. Blizzard already know that.

I did, tried many of those, factions are pretty much just as much flavor as the random text you get when creating your race.

Most of those interactions are just done for gameplay. Factions are supposed to be grander than just the hatred and meant to be a meaningful part of your character.

Which should open your eyes. I never said we were innocent, I was pointing out that as a NE he should know why we won’t be merging factions together.

Common sense? How do you know that they’re not?

Besides, there’s half a dozen ways to communicate cross faction now. Void and blood elves can talk to each other, pandas can talk to each other, demon hunters can yell in demonic. And the RP potions in Underbelly are there for the taking. And yet there’s not some massive flamewars on every corner somehow.

Because you literally mentioned:

People will kick for stupid reasons, why is that a defense to not have cross faction play? And if that wasn’t a defense, I apologize; it read like one to me so I assumed you were using it as a reason to limit cross faction play.

But they aren’t. Especially as Horde, we’ve now gone through two expansions of having to do awful things that my character would never do. BfA has essentially broken my character away from the lore because I have no say in what my character does in this story, and that feels awful.

And yeah, they’re for gameplay. They also blur the existence of factions because we’re literally aiding other faction leaders in the game. If I’m there helping Jaina, Tyrande, Malfurion, why can’t I group up with some Night Elf players to help them deal with the Emerald Nightmare?

Well it could have been worse. We could have had a homicidal leader who was only using us to cause as much death as possible, even if that death was her own troops :stuck_out_tongue:

I love when my assessment of someone is proven right with their first response lol. Obtuse!

Anyway:

Factions have been in several mmos, including WoW, since their beginnings.

The Difference with WoW is the faction conflict aspect which it began with and has largely ignored outside of the pvp experience for 15 years now. Factions have been working alongside one another for the last 15 years to complete PvE content. No storypoint has only Alliance beating the big bad or only Horde, it’s always through the combined effort of both factions.

In an MMORPG, it doesn’t matter if you can group with another faction or not, that is a limitation put forth by the developers.

Factions being separated ONLY makes sense in PvP because in PvE, each faction is not being given a separate story that only they can accomplish. The destination of the Horde is the same as the Alliance, only the beginning of the journey is different.

So, a cop out? That’s your best reason for opposing allowing people to group cross faction? Something that has been going on in other games for years, something that’s been happening via story in PvE content in this game for the last 15 years?

I would love to see them have a neutral faction, and any character can join it alliance and horde…
Now granted this is just purely conjecture…but I bet that faction would have the most population…

The only reasons I’ve ever seen given to oppose cross-faction grouping are tribalist pride and “because that’s the way it’s always been”. Those are not acceptable reasons.

What can I say, I don’t trust people.

Oh that’s not what I’ve seen.

And I didn’t mention a side specifically.

because people already kick others for stupid reasons, to have another one it’s not a good idea. Occam’s razor.

No, I simply didn’t specify the side, because I’m well aware either side could do that. They shouldn’t be given the chance to do it.

I simply can’t take someone that argues with this arrogant notion that they simply can’t be wrong simply because they hold an opinion which it’s completely subjective to begin with.
And the cherry on top on this arrogance, is the continuous attempts at insult.

You call me obtuse and then say that factions have been ignored for 15 years? Are you sure you’ve been playing WoW?

Oh ok, so you don’t bother with the lore. I’m not being sacrastic here, I can’t blame anyone for not wasting time with that trainwreck. But I adivse you don’t try to use talking points that can be easily proven wrong.

I take it you didn’t run ICC or Dazar’alor or read about the raids, yes? Maybe didn’t pay attention while running them?

No, just a way to play with your friends on the other faction.

Do you think night elf would just forgive and forget after what the Horde did.
Graymane still holds angry towards forsaken for destroy his city and killing his son.
There still many Vets “npcs” still alive from War 1 and 2 alive who saw the horror of the Orcs.
and this just the Alliance side. There some in the Horde who hate Alliance.

Now I agree I think we should be able to trade materials and gold between own characters between faction on same server to that.

Dazar’alor occurred during the Fourth War. The Fourth War is now officially over (even for the achievement for it). We helped Jaina, side by side with her, in Eternal Palace. We stood with Anduin as he marched with Thrall and Saurfang on Orgrimmar. In this expansion alone we’ve come together yet again as a single faction to remove a corrupt leader from power.

The war is over. Players have been helping NPCS, there’s no reason to not let them help players.
