Wow, that’s a little ridiculous. I get faction pride, but come on there. Not every race that happens to be Horde is Horde aligned. Hamuul has been more Cenarion Circle for years more so than Horde, though he has aided the Tauren. Never when it came to war, however.
Also we lost Lordaeron, and we’ve lost more leaders than the Alliance has. Losses have existed on both sides for a pointless war. It’s so ridiculous at this point, and beyond unbelievable.
While I advocated for the end of the factions, at least being allowed to group up would make things better for both sides. We already fight alongside NPCs and opposite faction leaders, and have for 15 years. There’s no reason not to.
The scourge isn’t a faction, but I’d love to play as the scourge instead of the alliance or horde. The Ebon Blade is the closest thing I can say is a separate faction that isn’t tied too closely to either faction.
We Death Knights ultimately serve the Lich King, regardless if we want to or not. I’m curious how blizzard is going to change the relationship between the Ebon Blade and Bolvar after the Helm of Domination breaks.
For such a great druid he certainly did a lot to protect the World tree and stand by the other Druids in Darkshore… oh right he didn’t. He abandonned them.
What sucks is that Alliance was never responsible for any of these losses.
The Horde player got satisfaction by destroying and invading Alliance territory in this faction war expansion.
Meanwhile I received none of that besides that idiotic scenario in lordaeron that ended in utter failure.
I honestly struggle to recall working for Horde NPCs. There was Thrall in Cataclysm which was notoriously one of the worst expansions ever produced.
On a theme level and meta level the more these two factions are separated the better.
I absolutely love that more and more Alliance characters only have utter contempt for the Horde and its races and I hope that continues and expands to other NPCs and other npc factions.
it will benefit only alliance. Horde will get bunch of handicapped races. Can already see those “only horde races” queues. There’s nothing to gain for horde in this "alliance’’
I decided to actually play WoW rather than debate on the forums.
Besides, I created the thread to find out other people’s thoughts on it all. Not try to force my opinion on anyone.
I don’t see how further input from me is really necessary. I’m currently reading through everyone’s posts and I’m at 250 out of 313. Some pretty interesting stuff. Probably more interesting than anything I could come up with.
Thank you to everyone for their two cents. If you have more thoughts, ideas, or concerns… keep 'em coming!!!
…And I’m definitelystill in favor of combining forces in PvE.
Edit: No idea why I can’t get the quote to format correctly…
I’m new to this whole WoW forum thing.
Edit #2: Thanks Megascope for the quote fix!!!
We need new factions to become playable and the ability to CHOOSE (within certain restrictions) which faction we support. The Kirin Tor is historically neutral. Same with the Earthen Ring and Cenarion Circle. What about Bolvar and Acherus? What about a new Troll empire with new skins for Jungle and Forest trolls? Or a Queldorei empire between Suramar and Silvermoon (still no Void Elves, sorry. Go wash or something).
And what if, instead of being side-hoes for Horde & Alliance who cease to exist when we aren’t looking directly at them, those factions could do things on their own. Maybe they have beefs, form alliances, declare war against each other. Maybe the political dynamic of WoW can be fluid and actually INTERESTING!
So no, Horde and Alliance don’t need to be bestest buds or comeplete fall apart. But we do need something MORE.
I’ve played horde an alliance over the years never really got into the whole faction pride thing. I don’t really care what they do with horde and alliance in the future.
Make a neutral faction and call it a day. Folks can join it if they want, one time option, no switching back. But, it won’t happen because it’s just too much to do and changes too many things.
