Yes. it is a well known fact the Blizzard CANNOT create a WAR.
because if you have Both sides FIGHT. but both sides are full of PLAYERS. Than neither team can lose.
It’s not about escalation. Blizzard has backed themselves into a corner where they can ONLY write stories about teaming up.
But Imagine if you will. A game with no factions. THEN a War happens. THEN Sides are allowed to lose. THEN characters are allowed to die.
Incorrect. This game is based on Warcraft 3, Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne.
Blizzard had literally zero intention of creating an MMO based on the Warcraft universe until the success of the series. In warcraft 3, you can see the beginning of MMO elements creeping into the game design.
What is Warcraft 3’s plot about? Setting aside your differences.
The game would cease to be World of Warcraft as we know it today, and would hopefully become a better, more accessible World of Warcraft for years to come.
There’s only so long two factions of similar morality can fight. I think that’s the main issue; neither side is evil, and both side has reasonable leaders. The fighting can’t keep continuing and make sense.
Especially now, with the last psycho leader out, the Horde is mostly passive now. The Alliance will have to instigate something for the war to make sense (though 10-1 says Blizzard writes the Horde doing it anyway) and Anduin likely won’t go to war now.
Well, let’s see the good side of the whole thing of diluting ourselves in the horde, by giving up!
At least that way they might stop destroying the cities of the alliance and push us allied races obscure and without any prestige, since we can ignore those that suck and replace it with another one of the horde, since without a doubt creating something relevant to the alliance would cause deadly bleeding from someone at Blizzard.
Incorrect. Warcraft Orcs and Humans sets the narrative (along with the subsequent Warcraft games). Blizz used the engine from III, but the lore of the game starts with Warcraft Orcs and Humans.
Which has been retconned at least a dozen times at this point.
Warcraft 1 and 2 aren’t relevant to the lore anymore, they’ve gone back on that. Warcraft 3 is the foundation of the game, it’s what WoW started on.
Games change, times change, change is good because otherwise we’re stuck in a rut of contrived, horrid story telling and forced narratives to keep a pointless war believable.
The Orcs in Warcraft 1 were a practical Hivemind. The game was based off of Warhammer you know.
As soon as Blizzard realized they had a Hit, they changed things. They laid the foundational bricks of the Universe.
The Orcs were not mere monsters, they were an Alien race, corrupted and blood-cursed by the lords of the Burning Legion.
And one day, those same Orcs, the Once-Slaves to the Demon overlords would rebel. With the help of the VERY SAME people they tried to destroy all those years ago.
This universe is HILARIOUSLY deep, unique, and diverse.
Orcs VS Humans doesn’t even cut the surface.
Without Warcraft Orcs and Humans, none of this would have happened (and yes I am well aware of Blizzards theft of Games Workshop). Hence why it started it all, why wow is based on it.
So we’re down to Ad Hominem are we? I don’t want want to hear about “Simple”. You play a Beast Mastery Hunter.
The Events of the first war are Integral to the Warcraft universe. But if you really think this game is STILL about Orcs vs Humans then you are AMAZINGLY dense, and you’ve successfully dodged about 15 years of stories about teaming up, cooperation, and tolerance.
No attacks present, just simple truth. You are trying to argue semantics to “win the argument” instead of just saying “ya, without orcs and humans none of this would be possible”>
Secondly. I am posting on a Beast Master hunter, but I play most classes and frankly much better than you. But, I do find it hilarious that a DEMON hunter, 3 button class is going to call BM easy. LOL, you are so dense its not even remotely funny.
I don’t think they need to get rid of factions, but honestly there is 0 reason for there to be no cross-faction play. Even if it was solely for instanced content.
Remember, all the Battlegrounds are happening in the past, not in current lore. So, cross-faction instanced content could exist at the same time as faction based PVP. And the story is mostly us working together to battle world ending threat du jour, so it would make sense that teams of heroes would band together to stomp them.
Everyone seems to speak common or orcish now anyway. Hell, they’re probably taught as electives in schools in Org and SW.
I’d just settle for being able to look at the factions and say “screw it, if you want to fight, fight, I am going to defend our world, any that want to join me are welcome regardless of their race or original faction”. This would open up cross-faction grouping for those that want it, as we would technically be a 3rd faction, but still keep the factions in place for those that buy into that part of the story.
No it isn’t. If you didn’t see it, they were the one that posted some super skewed numbers from a website that only takes their census numbers from players who use their addon. It was something crazy like 25 alliance to 75 horde. The numbers weren’t even close to accurate but people kept trying to use them to fuel their argument.
Right, and I agree that at end game, the alliance is in trouble, I say it all the time. But those are the only accurate numbers we have when it comes to faction imbalance. Trying to pass off some sketchy website as fact is ridiculous. Even realmpop isn’t totally accurate and before it was apparently shut down it was the best we had.
