End Crafting

MMO is a massively multiplayer online game.

Based on forums comments:

Only a few understand crafting enough to profit.

Only the top 5% do upper level raids, dungeons, etc.

Crafted items are close to upper level raid/dungeon level gear. Quested items are good enough and a rare is not far from crafted items.

You needs mats from upper level content or lucky enough to find while questing to submit a work order.

Compaction of gear level. Difficulties with the crafting process. Only a few benefit. Why even continue crafting?

You can craft gear that is appropriate to the level of content you do or you play in a dead server.
You probably don’t play that much, there are tons of crafters in trade chat offering services and crafting things immediately.

There’s no reason to remove crafting unless you just don’t like players having additional ways to get gear for their characters.

Some players really like to invest into their professions - whether to make gold or play out that oart of their character. Why deny them that?

Crafting at this point should only be toys, transmogs, and pets. Fun things only that last more the one expansion.

Why though?

If you don’t like crafting, you don’t have to do it. Why suggest removing options from others?

Adding more crafting stuff that lasts (toys, cosmetics, etc) is always a good idea though.

As someone who loves crafting and is one of the things I enjoy the most I strongly disagree.

Fun?.. hell even more crafted mounts would be sweet. Getting a enchant or a small upgrade is boring and not fun.

Why not both?

I’m totally down with your suggestion to add toys and mounts to crafting items, like if we get mount cosmetics then saddles/covers/whatever could be crafted items, but that doesn’t mean there’s any reason to remove the gear portion of it.

A bit of redundancy is a good thing because there are a lot of people who like to progress or engage with the game in different ways.

Some folks really like adding that enchant or upgraded item through crafting. I see no reason to deny them that.

Because any of the other things make a loot droop not feel as special. More so when you need to do more things to it. I guess it would be like as a child those who like building their toys before playing or those who just want them ready to play.

Neither one of those is exclusive to the other.

If you’re crafting gear that is equal to drops in 15ish keys, you’re already doing content in those keys and getting gear drops as it is.

Crafting adds to that, rather taking away from it imo.

Meh some people always liked legos more than others. You can assemble your toys I will still prefer it be already in once piece.

I’m so so glad I’m not one of those people who thinks it’s totally ok and rational to call for taking something away from others because I don’t like it myself. I dont like football. Cancel the NFL! That’s a reasonable request. Because it’s what I want and that’s all that matters.

i liked professions how they always were from vanilla up to shadowlands. some will disagree and say they are better now, but that is only because they can get end game gears without ever stepping foot inside of a mythic raid. and while we understand that this is the only reason they like the new system, it is still laughable.

the old profession way could of did this to. all blizzard had to do was man up and put some end game ilvl plans / patterns to drop or from rep vendors and nothing would of changed. but instead we got this massive convoluted rats nest that is dragonflight professions which the massive majority of the player base hates.

professions should of stayed the way they were. a stepping stone to dungeons and raids to get the 1 or 2 off pieces to prepare you for what is to come. some cosmetics, toys, pets even mounts. each profession could of offered some sweet player utility and quality of life affixes and or abilities. just like rested tents and gliders and wormholes do. mount speed increases etc…

anyway dragonflight professions is not how it should of came to pass.

Nobody cares if someone “feels special”. It’s an MMO. There have to be a wide variety of activities that a lot of different people enjoy doing. You don’t have to do everything. If you don’t like crafting, fine, but there is no reason to take it away from people who do enjoy it. Adding more things like saddles, mounts, transmog, toys, etc to crafting is always a good idea, but crafting should absolutely be able to make gear, even if it’s not absolute BIS.

People shouldn’t have to raid if they don’t want to. This is actually bringing WOW a little closer to FFXIV, where no activites are mandatory and you can main a crafting job if you want to.

Lol it’s not quantum physics. If people can’t understand the system enough to profit they should probably go play an easier game with no systems at all.

Which is 100% fine.

The point I’m making is that when folks jump from:

“I have no use or need for this”

to

“This shouldn’t exist for anyone at all”

then you wind up with an issue worth discussing. Just because I don’t really care about a feature in WoW (and there are plenty that I give zero craps about) doesn’t mean I think they shouldn’t exist.

I don’t expect the game to be designed specifically for how I play it and no one else.

I have been playing WoW since Vanilla. I have only once found professions even remotely fun or enjoying. That was over 10 years ago. Now they are just time sinks and boring with almost nothing that lasts for any real length of time in a MMO. Every person I have ever played with except one thought the same. If they required players to vote the super majority would not care if they vanished tomorrow.

Vhx in fairness, sometimes the system doesnt understand itself. I spend so much time telling people to resubmit their orders as rank 4 minimum so I can use my inspiration and illustrious to guarantee their 5. The system makes that 100% possible but the work order system won’t allow it.
