End Crafting

They just need to simplify the current crafting system a bit. The current one is a good idea just executed poorly

Exactly, by the very nature of an MMO, not everyone will enjoy every activity. That’s why there need to be a wide variety of activities, none of which are mandatory, so there’s a little something for everyone. FFXIV actually does this better than WOW, but WOW has made great strides since Dragonflight launched.

Crafting has finally become one of the pillars of the game.
The current interaction is the best form of crafting ever made and I hope they keep it up.

You might not partake, but crafting has been a huge success this expansion.

Exactly.

While there’s nothing wrong with people who play the game essentially as an instanced boss encounter simulator with loot tables, there are a lot of players out there in the MMOsphere who actually want a game with a world to engage in beyond just ā€œkill raid/dungeon boss, get loot, log offā€.

I’m not as tunnel-visioned on crafting as just an economic/power activity. I’m just looking for the fantasy of making stuff ( as opposed to only killing stuff )

To who? I don’t know a single person in my friends circle who finds it fun or wants to ever do it again. They would only do it on a twink now. But never a main.

agreed.

  1. they need to remove knowledge points. useless. pointless.
  2. they need to remove the crafting order system and make everything boe and sellable on the ah.

then i think the majority of us would have and or will like the new profession system. because in its current state it is hands down the worst change made to the game since the removal of 10 man end game raiding which obliterated a massive chunk of the player base and their guilds.

Yep…speaking for myself, I enjoy raiding, but NOT on a set schedule that makes it feel like work, so I’m not suited for harder difficulties anymore (I did enjoy that more when I was younger and healthier but not now). But do I demand mythic be taken out just because I don’t like it? Of course not.

I don’t enjoy PVP…I don’t demand that it be taken out. If someone wants to play the game entirely for PVP, hey whatever floats their boat, it’s fine with me.

In general, people should be happy the game has stuff that doesn’t appeal to them but appeals to someone else. Because if there’s a little something for everyone, the game will be more successful and have a healthier community.

Amusingly, the current iteration of crafting, let’s just say borrows more than a little bit from FFXIV, which has the best crafting I’ve ever seen in an MMO. Needless to say this is a HUGE step in the right direction for WOW. Crafting in WOW previously was ā€œgather a bunch of stuff, click create all, and afk while your skill gets to maxā€. The new system is a lot more engaging.

You mean the shadowlands crafting model that you needed an addon or an external spreadsheet to calculate how much you would profit from crafting and etc?

Crafting right now is pretty simple: you can only provide a service for someone who provides all mats or you can do a better negotiation and also provide mats.

This is absolutely false.

I’ve provided over 850 crafting orders since dragonflight on this character and I can tell I’ve customers that range from Very casual players doing the very basic craft to PvPer’s and even Mythic raiders.

The crafting system is the most including system that ever existed on this game.

No. If you don’t like crafting, it’s optional.

I HATED crafting during shadowlands. I moved to engineer just to have gadgets, dropped like 14 years of Blacksmithing on my DK because of that crap system.

The current system makes me a happy crafter. I feel accomplished every time I put my name on someone’s gear. I even recraft for free for people who have my gear in their name. It is a personal sanctification plus excellent gold income. I’ve made more than 3 million gold with crafting on this expansion only with Blacksmith and Jewelcrafting (my alt) and I am not even aggressively advertising it.

Which is the obvious choice Blizzard made, to benefit the few who love systems, crafting, and hawking their wares to make gold, while eliminating crafting as a casual activity that most would dabble in.

I regret to inform you that you are enjoying the game incorrectly, since none of the above is attributed to boss kills.

Please stop being a happy player and work on your Raider io profile.

Sort of, but FF14 crafting is nightmarish.

Yeah…I don’t really disagree. In FFXIV it’s MUCH MUCH MUCH more of a pain to gather items.

It’s really funny how many people who post in every crafting thread, don’t understand Dragonflight crafting.

I don’t really understand the ā€œwhy should i play if i can’t get all the best stuff by doing easy contentā€ threads. Like, craft the gear, do the content, recraft it when you get higher.
