End Boosting to Protect WoW

I would give Classic dungeons on Normal/PVP servers the same treatment as Hardcore, with a player in the group a certain number of levels above you there is no XP gain. Something like that.

There are ways to both incentivize and reward people doing dungeons without changing the content. Maybe that’s a phat XP gain from completing the dungeon with a group in the recommended level range, extra drops from bosses or something. Maybe it only works the first time to keep dungeon spamming from being a form of powerleveling. I don’t know for sure, but something could be done to make people want to play their character lol.

I think it is a shame that so many would rather skip the game entirely, it’s not the same crowed of people who basically got these servers to become a thing in the first place.

I waited 2 hours in queue for DM west or north run as a resto druid. No one was inviting.

I bought a run w/loot and will do it again.

If groups are not inviting, there is no alternative but to buy loot runs.

This was the only way in tbcc I could get runs in the night elf area dungeon.

See in tbc…even most draenei once done their intro 20 do not linger long. they get off boat 1 to darkshore. And hop on boat 2 to menethil.

Never to be seen again unless they opt to hit felwood to hit wintersprings for the 50 to 60 anyway.

I was questing for a few days there. LFG spammed, no hits. at some point by tbc…not many come here.

hell even boosters didn’t go there much. 2 days dead as hell, day 3 a booster was actually there.

Fair price for full clear to get quests done (no speed run/skip crap), my 60 to 70 was making gold in outland…let’s do this.

End wow for protect wow

For the people saying that boosting is killing dungeons, no they don’t. The boosted people would not lvl alters if boost doesnt exist.

I’d also wager most of the time the boosted is dime a dozen dps. I do dps myself, I know dps is common as dirt in this game lol.

You know…the 3 slots always filled on even 50 ads in lfg at any time.

It be the tanks and healers you need. And they aren’t needing boosting. they are…moving down the list of 50 ads with 3 dps in the lfg lol.

Out of one run, into another.

Boosting shouldn’t exist. If you don’t want to level without boosts, you don’t deserve that character to be 60.

Most boosters I see are breaking the rules by spamming LFG and posting offers from characters that won’t actually participate in the dungeon runs (like level 1 or 22 characters). This behavior clearly violates the rules. It seems Blizzard isn’t fond of boosting services in general, but a guildmate helping your alt through content should be acceptable. Whats happening (and everyone knows it), though, are boosting services that are at least partially automated

Absolutely agreed, how is boosting any different from gDKP in terms of gold laundering?

Boosting violates no rules.

You can take a level 15 into stocks and he can stand at the entrance until he’s level 30 and it’s perfectly fine.

The only thing against the rules is advertising those boosts in the wrong channel.

I don’t understand people who say this, then pick the sloggiest version of the game to play and still find time to raid.

I see no issues with boosting as long as there is zero RMT involved due to it from either parties.

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to understand that those spamming LFG around the clock as level 1 or 20 characters offering boosting are organized and very likely part of the gold-selling scene. At least they’ve automated the spam bots that flood the LFG. They’re also violating Blizzard’s TOS by posting in LFG. Boosting or running dungeons with a higher-level player is fine when it involves legitimate players, maybe helping out an alt, guildmates, or whatever. But this clearly organized, mass-production style boosting, which is without a doubt mostly organized, is very harmful to the game in so many ways.

Leveling isn’t hard, just time consuming, stop pretending getting to 60 is somehow an accomplishment in 2025

It isn’t about the accomplishment of reaching 60. You are straw manning the point Septic is making.

Anniversary is coming up on two months old. I could see a case for boosting on an established server where groups are hard to come by. All leveling zones have people. All the dungeons have groups going, although your odds are far better of getting a group if you tank or heal (always has been, always will be).

People are boosting because they don’t want to play the game. This is a self licking ice cream cone that will only get worse as the year goes on. Shame really.

They want to play the game, just not the part they already played once or twice already.

All I hear is people do not play the way I want so it needs to be banned.

It does not increase gold buying since most boosts are cheap. and if you think gold is made by account theft you been drinking blizzard kool aid for too long. If you think people are making gold by account theft, you need to realize 2025. Do accounts still get hacked? sure but not like they used to and it isn’t to strip for gold.
