End Boosting to Protect WoW

Basically.

If I had a few thousand gold I’d skip some “fun” of old wow.

It took me close to 2 hours to clear 2 quests by hillsblad. RNG on bear parts, rng on cat blood. Shockingly…the quest for 1 spider ichor I got in 3 hits.

RNG loves the mind games. It gives you the easy win once in a while. that you pay for suffering on other quests.

I know it was 2 hours. It started with a world buff hit of…2 hours. that was about to expire as I finally got the 10/10 lol.

So many bloodless lions. I guess vampires infest the area? blood had to go somewhere after all.

many players would quit from boredom if they did that. Then you would be on here saying, “server is dead”. Nobody has time for that crap 2 rounds in a row with HALF the time we originally had in 2019. Hell, they need to increase xp gains from all sources and increase drop rates to make up for shorter time we have. Like they did in SoM. I don’t know how Blizz overlooked this, but i shouldn’t be surprised anymore. Incompetent morons. Just look at the SoD bg debacle.

99.9999% of us are here for end game content be that PVE or PVP - the fun is in the middle of the tootsie pop and lets be honest all of us will bite as hard as we can to get to the tootsie roll center instead of licking it lol. And besides I have not seen any issue with filling groups to run dungeons, if you kill boosting it will not “preserve the health of the server” it will kill it… quickly… majority of us hate the leveling process and only see it as a means to an end

This is the type of player that Classic should not be built for. There’s a version of WoW already that is entirely about endgame. Vanilla was about the journey. That should be the focus in Classic.

Appealing to Retail players doesn’t grow the playerbase. They’ll just play Retail if they’re not catered to here. Classic should try to attract a very different type of player. The key is to offer something for everyone and having two version of the game gave Blizz the opportunity to do that. The bigger net, the better. I thought Blizz was smart enough to realize Classic was an opportunity to offer a radically different experience from Retail. Instead, they just make Classic a crappier version of it.

So now it’s just Retail dropouts who want to pay to skip 95% of the game in order to cheese the already easy endgame with every buff and consummable and /flex at how leet they are.

while they work on the bans - get the bulletin board addon and you can remove the advertisements from showing on the addon - make it much easier to actually LFG

actually a large portion enjoy the endgame of vanilla like i said either pvp or pve. The amount of people who are boosting dungeons proves my point.

if a social experiment were to be conducted and a free boost to instantly be level 60 and bypass “the journey” you would find that your way of thinking is the minority for sure and the vast population would overwhelmingly accept such offer (guaranteed greater than 95%)

Don’t twist my words, I am not saying there are not some that are here for “the journey” I am simply stating the fact that the majority does not care - whether that information is upsetting or not I cannot help that… If a crayon is red it is simply red no matter how much you want it to be blue. facts are facts

You are just proving what he says to be true. Those are the type of players that make classic less classic. You don’t want to design a video game around people that don’t want to play half of it.

The endgame is there whether you boost or not.

As far as the rest of your post, as a dev once correctly said: players will optimize the fun out of the game. Devs need to be smart enough to know certain behavior creates an empty, hollow experience. Players have no attachment to their characters when they just boost to the end. There’s no commitment, no investment. There’s a reason the player mindset of certain players is what it is. It didn’t used to be that way.

Protect it from what?

From the 20+ years it’s been successful and the many more that it has left in it?

What exactly are you protecting?

Don’t want a boost? Don’t have one.

Don’t want to see the boost ads? Block them.

Go about your life.

“everyone needs to play wow exactly how I think they should play” - OP

You are projecting.

Ban boosters selling runs, ban people buying boosts but allow them to play retail.
Make wow great again

Im not going to lie, i boosted 3 toons on Cata. Got them into pre raid BiS gear so fast it wasnt funny. Im at the point with my Cata toons that theres not much else to do but raid or pvp. It got boring.

Then, I decided to make a toon on the Anniversary server to play with my friend. No boosts, no wow tokens, no nothing. Was a daunting grind at first. I got owned like 3 times in just the starting quest zone for Trolls. Then i started grouping with people, folks came to starting areas just to give away bags to people, and one afternoon it clicked - I was having more fun on my level 10 Priest than I had in a long time playing wow.

Dont get me wrong, im loving the endgame content in cata right now. Theres just something about Vanilla leveling that is just peak fun, imo.
