Empty Servers

Temporarily populated is better than dead-RP server with nobody to RP with? Plus, the game is more fun, sure the rotations are shart but there are folks that help ya kill mobs and chat you up.

Beats sitting in Valpoopen to wait for a queue in silence.

There’s only been 3 populated RP servers for years - ED, MG, Wyrmrest. A huge chunk of ED roleplayers migrated to MG and Wyrmrest a number of years ago. It’s almost like you just started playing.

Oh, well I mostly play on WrA. I play Horde there, used to RP a lot there… But uh… It’s super quiet these days, as pointed out by quite a few people.

I play Horde, last I checked Moonguard was Alliance RP and had like a small handful of sad horde players.

There are games three decades old that figured out last names online, or even account based names. I know that Microsoft and Blizzard are small indie devs, but c’mon.

She was a classy dame!

I play that way, if I wanted to play an offline game that wasn’t dogshart I’d play Enshrouded. I play this game for the people, even if they suck, and even if the game blows donkey chunks. Cause it does.

Imagine actually playing an MMO to PLAY WITH PEOPLE. Gasp. How ghastly, right? /s

I just came back from hiatus, cause y’know, everyone worth their typing salt left and went to the better critically acclaimed game. Not the one Microshark plans to run into the ground. And before they all moved there, in 2006 Feathermoon was bumping and we used to hold little raids on Emerald Dream whenever it went down.

And I know where the RP reportedly is, WrA is supposed to be the hordeside server and has been since Cata that’s why we all moved here. It’s still… Ded.

Anything else to add, trogg?

So just WRA? That’s not a very good sample size.

Yes, the population has gone down but no it’s not a dead game.

IMO the problem is playing as a Hordie just feels bad, man. And it’s sad, because I left my dead RP realm for WA Horde and MG alliance.
MG Alliance is bonkers full, and WA Horde has been tepid and slowly declining since BFA. Sucks, but there’s no solving this. Just roll alliance toons in MG from now on.

Aside from the Space-Goats I’m not into the Alliance races, I’d rather just play something else than ugly races like human. Blegh.

Dwarves ain’t half bad, same with draenei.

Male nelves look like a purple Dorito with legs. Sorry, upside down Dorito. They’ve got negative waist space lol, someone dun yanked their hip bones.

Humans are boring basic botch shart. If I wanted to play one I’d just play GTA. Or go touch grass.

I like the Kul Tirans, but they have like 1.5 customization options and all the 256 by 256 textures from when the Commodore was hip get stretched over the big belly and look awful.

And those are the only races that exist.

Gnomes and Elves clearly do not, because they were a mistake.

I know its pure copium to hope. But what I hope with the cross realm feature is that all servers in a region will more or less function as one server.

No. Plenty of servers where cities are full. They probably won’t offer free transfers because it’s a service these days where people can pay to move characters in bulk. Gone are the days where you would be given a server transfer for free because servers were too populated.

That’d be nice, I honestly just wanna see people in the overworld. Is it so much to ask?

The game definitely feels empty. There seem to be more bots than regular players left, but well, who’s surprised given the quality of the game. I came back for the Gilneas stuff, but I really should have known better. Disappointments are just programmed into WoW, it seems.

I get it, believe me. My connection and headcanon to my characters is my main connection… Most toons that I like just don’t mesh with the world, the ones that do are the campy ones that I presume the world vision creators enjoy. Or people who enjoy this current candyassed vision. But obviously that’s why everyone I’ve known who played over the twenty years is literally gone.

No, Everyone confuses sleep apnea with life support because of the CPAP machine. Plenty of difference between the two. WoW isn’t on life support but does snore like a mother-hecker, now.

Sounds like you aren’t worth your salt since you’re back then.

Here you are.

It’s not.

Maybe you just can’t find anyone to play with and that’s the real problem, this probably boils down to a you problem.

it barely works at all, and sporadically at that. i’ve done a /who on people from my realm and faction who i’m standing next to and had them not come up in the results.

Maybe, or maybe I’m bored cause the game is lame and instead of doing whatever tedium they have in their list of chores, I’m bickering on the forums.

Thanks for posting again troll-gnome, now I can post more.

Yeah, but like, it isn’t even trying is it? At least like, do something fun… Maybe we should poke it with a stick?

That’s kinda insane, you think a basic search feature would work. Eh, indie company.

Then go do something else with your time. I couldn’t imagine having nothing in life to do other than complain on a video game forum rated T for teens that I don’t even like.

I don’t think /who shows you people from other linked servers.

All the low pop servers got linked together in groups a while ago so they can play together.

Blizzard doesn’t want to merge servers because it would look bad from an optics view to move from like 100 servers to maybe 20 tops. Also they don’t want to wreck people’s character or guild names.

That being said, people just tend to congregate on the high pop servers anyway, so they really should just bite the bullet on merging servers.

I guess you ain’t imagined a boring retirement yet, it’s plenty simple. Just think, “Man, can I die yet? Why is life so long?” And you’ll get the jist. Arguing with people is way more fun. Especially fanatics who rave over a piss-poor game, getting them riled gets my jimmies rustling.

What a fulfilling existence.
