Employees leaving Blizzard due to RTO

Yeah but it’s almost like I’m not saying that people don’t handle stress well at all, and you’re saying people back in the day were made of sterner stuff. When they just externalized their stress into more violence.

They were.

Which is why they were more violent and alcoholic because using therapy to manage their stress is quackery, anti-christian, and feminine.

Well, this thread’s finally jumped the shark. Have fun, everyone.

Yep. It really has, and I didn’t even get to meet the Fonz. :frowning:

That’s quite the stretch, Reed Richards.

Violence has gone down as a trend across the developed world.

Getting stressed out and drinking a bunch, smoking a bunch, and getting into fights because people couldn’t handle or even discern their emotions doesn’t mean people handled stress better.

Using veterans of wars as an example is particularly bad, when many of them came back to abuse their families because of their trauma. It just wasn’t talked about, or seen as ‘that bad’.

Is that Richards?! I thought it was Johnny Storm with all of the flaming going on here.

Wow. Someone needs to call Sue and get her to make him disappear.

Hey there, you’re treading dangerously here, implying people’s ill-thought rhetoric doesn’t actually take into account the complexity of the situations they casually throw out making poor comparisons.

We don’t take kindly to all this thinkin stuff round here.

Why would anyone at that place want to go back too work, bobby the perv and clueless ion would be there.
That would screw anyones day.
Pass.

It’s like the boomer 1st commandment is: Thou shall be at least as miserable as I was just because.

Nor should we. That person is slandering WWII veterans calling them alcoholics and wife beaters. Totally inappropriate.

I’m just laughing at all the boomers who think we should be as miserable as they are

I’m just reliving the story plot from Megaman X.

I am X. I oppose Z. Not because I wish to, but because they have gone Maverick.

None of the current management team has been in their positions for longer than 2 years. The only one who was in place prior to 2021 was Bobby K. The 2021-present management team might know how to run companies in general, but do they know how to run this studio?

Blizzard is the only division of ABK not being led by a president who paid their dues with that studio. Activision and King both have guys who were with their studios for over 10 years. The Blizzard that Ybarra inherited was in COVID crisis mode when he got there and “we’re-overrun-with-perverts”/#MeToo lawsuit + PR nightmare mode after that. He knew what his old department at MS was supposed to look like and how it functioned. Blizzard is so far off “normal” it’s crazy.

Man, a LOT of folks in this thread definitely floss with Bobby Kotick’s hairs from down there, if you catch my drift.

This is probably one of the BEST posts in this thread. So much truth.

It can’t be a myriad of reasons why Blizzard wants their employees in office, no it’s just straight up people you-know-what’ing Bobby. No real arguments to not go to the office just derail the convo. Stomp your feet on the ground and yell how you are right and everyone is wrong.

WFH works for some and can boost moral/work finished it doesn’t mean that blizzard is having that success with wfh. Also if you move while wfh was being enforced because of covid then thats completely on you for moving out of range when you knew that one day you would have to go back. They were never told it would be permeant .
