Summary of the article:
I don’t know about you guys but let the people go who refuse to return to the office, they’ll regret that real quick when they realized they jumped into a oversaturated market all because they don’t want to go back to the office

But see, he thinks those leaving are going to regret leaving and we should laugh at them.
This is totally different from that other thread.

This is a good thing for the company.
If they want to quit because they have to come in to work then let them and fill their positions with better people.

I trust Activison and Blizzard’s direction and trust Microsoft’s vision and direction when they take over. I do not trust the people who “leak” news via twitter and go onto the internet to complain about how they aren’t getting their way and nobody listens to them.
I’m also looking forward to seeing new devs and talent join the company with so many leaving. I am 100% not happy with what the current and former regimes have done with the game in the last several expansions. If you ask me, people quitting or getting axed is a good thing for the health of this game. At this point, I don’t think the game can get any worse. Each new type of disappointment is unique and I can’t say which is better or worse than the other at this point.
I assume everyone agrees w/ me since you’re still here playing this game.

The rto complaints are valid and the people saying “just return to work lol” should probably stick to stacking cans at Walmart instead of speaking on something far above their skill level, lol.

It’s been proven over the last couple years that remote work is far more efficient and productive in most cases, where it’s appropriate. Companies that have been using remote work have seen both productivity and revenues increase.
Companies that are sabotaging their own success because they have to justify unnecessary real estate overhead, or are driven by middle managers who don’t contribute anything to the bottom line if they can’t pretend they’re “managing” people, are just shooting themselves in the foot.

The Microsoft acquisition is the best thing going for Blizzard at the moment.

Except there’s a labor shortage, and it’s going to be perpetual from now on. Employers got used to decades of cheap labor because of the baby boomers in the workforce (which had a long tailwind after baby boomer women entered the workforce in huge numbers later in life). The bulk of the baby boomers are now hitting retirement, and even the youngest boomers are almost 60 now. As the baby boomers rotate out of the workforce, there are no similarly large generations to fill that hole.
Perpetual labor shortages are here to stay, which will mean spiraling wages, which will lead to perpetual inflation. The period from 1970 to recent years was an anomaly in terms of labor force.

Neither. Getting mad at people who work remotely is just the latest culture wars issue folks are manufacturing.
Even though remote work benefits everyone by getting more commuters off the roads, leading to less traffic / air pollution / lower gas prices. But rather than accept these benefits, they want to get mad about it because somebody told them they should.
