Employees leaving Blizzard due to RTO

Funny enough most of the thing you see on the news is just government’s mouthpiece. Ironically, i’ve seen more accurate news on twitter and tiktok from random people just holding their phone and recording stuff as it happens.

Yeah, if you’re getting your news from the legacy networks or newspapers, you’re not getting news, you’re getting spin, propaganda, whatever you want to call it. These outlets are simply not trustworthy anymore.

Most anti-WFH people are either:

  • jealous because their career choice doesn’t allow them to work from home.
  • lonely so they use RTO as an excuse to get people to “collaborate” with them.

Thank god the majority of these people are also old and retiring. It will be great to have this dumb kind of mentality exiting the labor force.

There you go.

In fact, you can buy an uninhabital home with a fannie mae renovation and fix it up.

Flint, MI where despite numerous claims that the city water is finally safe to drink, most residents still don’t trust it.

Can you find affordable houses that aren’t in a city that made national news for some sort of ecological disaster? I bet East Palestine, OH is going to have some real cheap houses in the next five years.

They are amazing. And i hope blizzars implodes. Becauae if you treath your employees like crap, this is what should happend to you. They are so hecking amazing

Who in the right mind would live in Flint MI…those that still live there now are stuck for most part cause lack of money to get out of there…nobody with half a brain is going to buy a house there and fix it up.

At least they aren’t leaving due to RKO OUTA NOWHERE!

This sounds vaguely familiar to those complaining the game is in a bad state and the devs dont listen to player feedback…

Threads like this really don’t have a place on these forums. It’s not the players job to speculate on the internal workings of the company. They should either play or not play the game. Blizzard even allowing this topic to keep going on the forums is going to do more damage to the game and the community than already has been done.

Wish this thread and others like it would be locked. It was wildly unprofessional to rant on Twitter, but even more so to allow it to continue to be ranted about on the official forums.

You’re kidding right? Maybe if new working generation employees dropped this arrogant perspective of individualism they’d actually hear what’s being said-

*Work life balance won’t exist - This is paramount
*Career growth is stunted
*You’re only known as 1s and 0s. Personality and the ability to observe determination in an employee goes farther than you think. IE- There will be a lot less “Go out on a limb” for this one.
*Example setting for children - Well if mom and dad can stomp their feet and not go to the office and do their work from home, then I’m gunna stomp my feet and not have to go to school. 2+2 can be done on a computer screen.
*Future expectations of being observed in your home and how you work. If you don’t think this would follow behind a large shift to all WFH environments you’d be naive.
*You claim we need RTO to help our feelings of being “lonely”. No, we want RTO because we understand there is a current problem with the massively inflated pressure on public mental health system as the prescription for anti-depressants, stimulants and sleep medication increases.

But let’s be honest, the average employee wants to WFH because they don’t have to put pants on, don’t have to look at their boss or supervisors (It’s a lot easier to get that stern talking in an email or over the phone that have to look at someone in the face), and they don’t have to worry about the social stigmas of their physical appearance, how they act, how they smell. So yea WFH tells me this:

-Diabetes will continue to sky rocket
-Obesity will continue to sky rocket
-Data sharing and loss of privacy will continue to sky rocket
-Social awkwardness will continue to sky rocket
-School shootings will skyrocket until everyone remotely educates. Then general -education will continue to decline because little Johnny has less motivation to remotely school without the responsibility of maintaining family finances

So tell me again…why I’m jealous? I can’t retire soon enough.

I don’t know why people think every job in a community has to match the cost of rent/mortgage on a house. When was this a thing?

No, we need to renovate existing housing.

People want to live to as close to as many amenities as possible. The higher amount of amenities present, the higher the price.

Simple real-estate 101.

People also dont believe that vaccines work. But, lucky for you, you can tell exactly where the lead lines in flint are. Flint Service Line Replacement Status (flintpipemap.org)

This isn’t a course in increasing your equity in a home. It was a request for affordable livable homes. My point was people refuse to take them.

You can also opt to get discounts on housing by buying a fixer upper, living farther away from amenities, purchasing land and building a house, or you could build the house yourself and save a bunch of money. If you want something with amenities, close to the things you want to do that’s all been done for you then you have to pay for it.

I’ll give you five points for actually locating properties that are under 50K.

I’m taking 3 points because:
(1) You had to go to one of the poorest places in the entire US to do it [Flint, MI]
(2) Initial review tells me at least 2 of these properties have original electric with 1950s burlap and 60 amp fuse boxes (yikes).
(3) Taking this to our original point: This isn’t applicable to the US at large. If you’re not working at home, you’re probably not finding a reasonable job with a reasonable wage in Flint Michigan.

Lol, I assure you, you will not be saving money by building your own home. (Especially if it’s actually legal and up to code)

“Every job” Let’s unpack that using Florida as an example:

-The average income in Florida as of 2020 was just under 30k. That’s just under $15 an hour.
-The average rent for a 1 BR apartment in Orlando is $1,827.00, Tampa is 1,565.
-The average public school teacher in Florida makes $53,518.00.
-BEFORE TAXES, .33% (the maximum amount one should devote to rent) of a teacher’s pay is $17,660.64 USD.

Using Tampa as a base, we get a yearly rent for a ONE BEDROOM of $21,924 USD. This means that rent in Tampa, a fairly “mid” city in Florida, is higher for a 1BR apartment than an educated college professional makes on average using the 33% rule.

Are you too stupid to see the problem with this?

You absolutely can save money building your own home. Barndominium kits are pretty affordable. You’re not going to get them for 30k. If you can find some decent priced land you could get away with a new house for much less than you would pay in a decent city.

I live near Flint. I have a very good paying job. It’s 40 minutes from flint, 50 minutes from my house. Would I live in Flint? No, I would not live in Flint. But that goes back to paying for what you get. I cant/dont want to pay for a house in the city I work in, so i commute.
