Employees leaving Blizzard due to RTO

He’s first on the chopping block, that’s why he’s tanking everything now that the M$ deal passed it’s major road block. Just trying to sink the ship before getting off.

Well, its not over yet, but yes its widely expected the CMA will approve the deal by Wednesday, which at that point the FTC might as well wave the white flag.

Just another L for Biden’s 2021 directive to scrutinize these mergers harder.

Then all that’s left is for M$ to make an offer to merge the studios of those who left blizz to start their own and bring them back into the company fold

I thought it was an acquisition?

Yea, no. Mike Moreheim can stay where he is.

He’s in bed with the big banks and defense contractors who are going to reap incredible profits from it. Sadly though, that doesn’t make him unique, as they pretty much are all in on it.

But I want J. Allen Brack J. Allen Back

Its an acquisition but its considered a Vertical Merger.

He says, as I literally got this very thing by request at the role I just moved into a few months ago.

Closed mouths don’t get fed. They could’ve just hired someone else if it were a problem with them. They didn’t.

I feel like a lot of y’all don’t actually work in positions like these but are chiming in anyway…

Because you either negotiated for it, the company offered it up front, or you asked and they agreed.

Which again is the entire point of looking elsewhere if you don’t get it.

How do you know?

I think the OP was saying that he lays asphalt for a living. And is then saying he doesn’t see how people could do a job like that remotely.

Like… yeah. Duh.

I asked and they agreed. It wasn’t originally advertised as permanently remote, just temporarily. But by the time I got the offer (four-month process, another two to get fully in, government is slow), they were debating on having people come in.

I had asked before I received the final offer, and the final offer was updated to permanent remote.

There is talk for federal workers to go back to the office, but for now, I have it.

On USAJobs I can see 21 people applied for the role. Very few but it’s a niche field. I’m sure there were other qualified people, and I had asked for this before signing the final offer. Even if I were the only viable hire, if they didn’t like what I said and felt the need to go with someone else, they could’ve just canceled the hiring and relisted the job.

Figures.

Yeah, I was gonna say that maybe people here are just middle managers, and I am sure many are - but it seems like some people have literally never NOT worked in such an environment and believe that micromanagement is normal.

Trying to say WFH or working in the office made X expansion better is very silly.

BFA and SL sucked because they added in systems no one asked for, and even told them in the betas they were trash, and Blizzard doubled down on them.

Incorrect, they are houses within the city of flint and Detroit. Many of which are inhabitable and just need work to be decent. But, god forbid they live by some minorities though amirite?

I am only speaking for where I live where kids are trying to jump on the house price complaint bandwagon. If its just California you’re talking about then yeah, there is a problem there.

Those who were working from the office before WFH, can at the very least make an effort to return to work at the office in some capacity. The secretaries where I work have agreed to put in X number of hours per week at the office, and can do the rest of their hours WFH.

Thats what happens when you buy a discounted house due to its condition. You create value by fixing it up. But yes, some of it is just the real estate market.

I have my employees go in twice a week and I’m not a jerk about it. Want to work from home on one of the days you were supposed to come in because you have something to do? Sure.

  1. It’s not just California. It’s nationwide. My house is in FL and we’ve seen these price increases in just two years. Income hasn’t gone up 100% to match rent / home costs.

  2. I’m calling bull on your 50k live-able houses. Even small dead towns have seen significant price increases as demand outstrips supply, especially over the last few years. We need to build more houses. I’d love to see you link one of these 50k houses and prove me wrong. I guarantee you it’ll need at least another 100k to 150k in work to be habitable.

  3. Once again, your statement was presumptive. People aren’t “trying to live down the street from cool night clubs”. They just want to live with a reasonable wage and the ability to afford housing.

You can buy a bunch of houses between $1-$100 and combine the land into one big property

How much you can invest is up to you along with securing your property/land

This kinda reinforces my point. When someone is barely able to make ends meet with exorbitant rents, they don’t have money to invest in a house that needs to be torn down.

The rent is too damn high.
