This has happened to me three days in a row, I have an open ticket about it.
same thing happened to be with the Nazjatar quests. Pretty sure it happened yesterday too but I could not remember if I had actually done the quests or not. Today logged in and another was complete and definitely did not do anything in the zone.
It’s very inconsistent with my characters, but still happening. And then sometimes an emissary needs to be done (I see it on the map, with no quests complete) but then when I come back later to do it, it’s suddenly completed and just not turned in.
I don’t know how helpful it is, but the bug solving info I can offer is:
– Time of day doesn’t seem to matter. I’ve had them auto-complete both in the mornings and evenings.
– Character doesn’t seem to matter. I’ve had them be auto-completed on some characters and not others (even within the same faction) and also auto-completed on some characters on both factions, but not others. Which characters it happens on is very inconsistent also. CharacterA can get it auto-completed one day, but the next day CharacterB gets it auto-completed and CharacterA doesn’t.
– Logging in/out seems to have something to do with it? I’ve not (yet?) had one auto-complete on a character while I am actively using that character. They only seem to auto-complete when I log to another character for something and then back again. Length of time logged to other character(s) doesn’t seem to be a factor. I can log to another character for just a second to grab something or for a three hour raid. EDIT for clarity: Logging across characters does NOT 100% make the emissaries auto-complete. Most of the time they won’t, but this just seems to be the only time they do. Meaning, if it isn’t completed then it will not auto-complete without logging around, but logging around will not make it auto-complete.
I don’t know how helpful this is to Blue…

Happening to me also. Just on my main (as with all the grind etc i have no alts this expac) but has happened on and off. Definitely today with The Unshackled for me, came up yesterday, did not even go to Nazjatar, today logged in to 4/4 completed and ready for turn in.
This has happened previously but i usually do a sweep of all world quests when i log for gear/war rescources/azerite so id easily cover the 4/4 that was required…
Id hope this gets fixed and there’s no affect to players who have redeemed from this bug, its been going on since 8.2.5 i think for most of us…

Last night the Honey Smasher reset to rare after I’d killed him a few hours earlier. Same bug issue maybe? I killed him around 5pm central and he was rare again for that toon around 7:30ish pm. Could kill and loot him again. I checked on my other toons and no he was not rare again. Yes I’m positive I killed him already on that specific toon.
This has happened twice to me. I don’t think I did anything unusual before it happened, just logged on to see the previous day’s quests complete when I know I hadn’t done it.
Yeah, Emissaries seem to be completing themselves.
On one hand: Free stuff!
On the other hand: This is really not good for the game. I would have suspected a quicker fix for this bug.
On the other hand Blizz gives out temp bans for taking advantage of an obvious bug.
It took them a patch to give the Draught of Seven Lands or w/e a simple buff timer, theres bugs that were reported at start of Beta that werent fixed until 8.2… I love blizz and the game and all, but sometimes I do agree with the “indie company blizz” sentiment…
Hadn’t noticed it happen before, but I did today on my Rogue. I had the Tortollan & Champions of Azeroth (CoA) emissary’s available to do. I completed the Tortollan & 3/4 CoA while on Zandalar.
I turned in the Tortollan emissary & decided to head to Nazjatar before going to Kul Tiras to finish up CoA. I did a few WQs in Naz, checked my map for something & suddenly I was 4/4 for CoA.

Same happened here yesterday and today.
Didn’t realize yesterday on Nazjatar Emissary because was doing WQ, but was no sure if i did the 4 needed.
Today i just log in and Champions of Azeroth it’s fully completed.
Same thing happened here. Logged into raid on Tuesday and haven’t played since. Logged in Thursday before work and Waveblade was done. Logged in midnight and Champions was done. I also had picked up “Against Overwhelming Odds” on Tuesday and that’s done too.
This happened to me yesterday and today with the Ankoan and Champions of Azeroth. I got concerned that maybe my account was compromised, so I changed my password. I know I didn’t do any WQs for either of these.
Happened today on champions, had finished turtle dailies, logged out logged back in and champions was also completed
Bug has happened twice to me so far. No idea on what causes it.
Still no fix? All of their resources are going into classic now. Retail has been abandoned.
Same thing is happening to me, emissary autocomplete.
You can’t “take advantage” of this bug. You can only NOT turn in the emissaries, which is simply not an option. And the player is doing nothing to cause the bug to happen, it just happens to them.
They’d have to be seriously mean-spirited to ban anyone for that.

Mine are still randomly completing after today’s maintenance. Guess we have no ETA on a fix? It was a little fun at first now it just kinda feels bad

A bug that causes my emissary to be completed? (Logged out with 3/4 Champions of Azeroth last night and logged in today with 4/4 completed. This is the second or third time i’ve seen this happen.
Maybe it would help them to make a list of ones that have auto-completed?
