Emblems of Heroism from Sons of Hodir dailies is somehow okay?

There you go, nice!

LFG Tool is already DOA everyone will still use LFG Addon and then farm dailies anyway. After Uld releases, Naxx and dungeons outside of the Heroic Daily are dead forever. Itā€™s sad,

Has there ever been any RPG that came about without a resource/currency system in place?

Wall oā€™ Text is a nice weapon, but it just doesnā€™t have the same weight after a few years.
Lets drop the verbose over explanations. Itā€™s like exposition dumps in movies, never a good sign and largely pointless.

Bugs gonna bug, thatā€™s great.

On topic, you need to review why you think ā€œincentiveā€ is the be-all end-all answer.
Quests give:
Items. ā€œIā€™m over leveled for them!ā€
Exp. ā€œBut Iā€™m capped!ā€
Rep. ā€œBut Iā€™m exalted!ā€
Achievements. ā€œI donā€™t care!ā€
Gold. ā€œI donā€™t need more gold!ā€- said literally no one ever.

Why do you feel more needs to be tacked on?
To increase the activity in the world? If they donā€™t do it for gold, or rep, or exp, or achievements, why do you think a badge- or handful- would be more enticing versus a heroic dungeon?
If theyā€™re gonna do them, theyā€™re gonna do them.
If they arenā€™t, they arenā€™t.

What WOULD accomplish the task of increasing social interaction and the completion of zones? Shared mob tagging.
This is a can of worms in and of itself, I know. Iā€™m personally in favor of it, but I understand it isnā€™t in the spirit of Classic. Itā€™s something Iā€™d like to see put to a vote in the community, or know its been discussed at length in a team meeting.

I love this change! Thank you, adding a reason to finish questing in zones that isnā€™t artificial is absolutely wonderful game design and I applaud the fella who thought of it.

I agree with no RDF

There is no healthy/decent communities in Classic, outside of certain closed guild communities. Almost everything is the general LFG channel & PUG community these days is a complete time-wasting joke & mostly goes against everything the traditional MMORPG genre is about (RMT, GDKP, Boosting, OCD Faceroll-optimizing, etc.).

so why donā€™t you just make heroic dungeons require an attunement like TBC did and finishing the main quest line in the zone grants you that attunement instead of just giving out random badges. just thought of that right now and its more in line with classic than any of the changes yā€™all have done

That would, you know, require you guys actually reading the forums.

You guys are a broken record, eh?

Thereā€™s like what, 7 zones? At most it sounds like you could get a max of 20-25 badges from this. I doubt any alt will be missing 20 badges. 1 badge as a reward isnā€™t going to be mandatory in the slightest.

Wrath was the beginning of dailies not being optional. U arent a inscriptionst u need to do the holdir quests to get the shoulder enchant and the mount rebate for the mammoth.

Every faction in wrath has something they were still setup like BC where recipes and stuff came from the factions. But dailies are a must

All zones have dailies in wrath

You make a great point. If itā€™s only 25 badges, Blizzard has no reason to even do this, because thatā€™s not enough to motivate players to fully complete each zone as theyā€™ve stated was their intention above.

TBF weekly boss kills are still a thing, remember having to kill patchwerk a lot for that

Someone said they got 41 on a video I was watching about it.

Nobody is praising them for pulling away from retail because they are not. The mythic heroics are considered a success. Not because of the way groups are formed for mythics. Its because of the content that themythics offer. But blizz doesnt have a clue. They think its the group finder. So they are bringing that to classic. They are adding retail features to classic. There may be a small amount of people praising them for it. But its praising for retail, not for pulling away. So thise same ppl are probably happy.

Blizzard claims to have internal toolsā€¦ so do me a favor lil intern reading this right now.

Tell them to look at the daily average active users for Vanilla Classic and compare them to TBCCā€¦ You will most likely notice more players on TBCCā€¦ you know why? Cause a lot of the CRAP in vanilla was just to annoyingā€¦ Leveling an Alt - Atrocious, Forming a dungeon - Atrocious, Grinding PVP - Atrociousā€¦ TBCC made a lot of these systems better and more enjoyable to doā€¦ nobody wants whatever weird social experiment or time wasting things you guys are trying to do hereā€¦

Whatever community you have coming into your offices for think tanksā€¦ fire them.

@Aggrend, thanks for the transparency and the thorough explanation. Iā€™ve been critical of the direction of the game (mostly retail) for years now. That said, I feel there have been many good faith efforts to create good systems and changes for classic that are paying off. This is one of them. I support this decision because it creates incentives for player interaction in the world and minimizes the chance that players have a disconnected experience through phasing.

It also doesnā€™t appear to offer so many emblems that it would significantly compete with, much less replace dungeons and raids.

Well done. I look forward to more smart design decisions for the classic community that drive the right behavior. Thank you.
