Embers of Fyr'alath Empowered - February 20

You still won’t get it. It is still RNG.

It went from SUPER SUPER SUPER rare to SUPER SUPER rare lol.

That’s not going to happen. They could roll NA region back a day, but then all loot across all content that was won yesterday would be reverted too.

And as someone already said, it’s not like it’s going to drop for you anyway.

Hard to say what tools they have available and what things look like on the back end. It might not be as complicated as people think to reset just the personal loot rolls for Fyrakk on any toon that killed him before the time of the hotfix yesterday. Biggest issue there would be that those people basically get to double roll but they might even be able to reduce the chance accordingly. It is also possible they could just hotfix in a loot roll that happens on login for those people that evens out the chances. It is hard to say exactly what constraints they have to operate within but there is a pretty good chance it isn’t that insanely difficult to make happen.

If they can do it without too much effort it would be a good idea to do it. Hotfixing that in most of the way through reset day is kinda bad planning on their end and is understandably frustrating to people who potentially lost out.

Didn’t you give them away like candy with a price tag in Shadowlands? Need to figure out a middle point between that and this hell hole of a grind.

I believe they have the tools to do what the player asked for. I also believe it would be a tremendous amount of work to go through all accounts with eligible player characters, find the ones who defeated Fyrakk on Heroic before their hotfix was live, and then reset the Fyrakk kill credit for those player characters while not touching anyone else.

There were undoubtedly players who defeated Fyrakk post-hotfix that still didn’t get the axe to drop, even with the buffed Embers. Should devs reset their kills too? It just becomes way too much work for something that might resolve itself in a week, or two, or however many weeks are left before Fated begins.

Players are acting like if their Fyrakk kills were reset, they’d definitely get the axe. There’s no proof of that

I can definitely say now that I’ve killed it on 5 toons after hotfix, don’t get your hopes up for any change.

Honestly, I think finding those players might be the easiest part depending on the architecture they are using. If they have a database that tracks who killed what boss when and what it dropped (something like this is probably the case), then it is just a pretty simple series of queries to get the list of people that killed him before the hotfix. If actually adding in a roll or resetting the lockout has a different technical difficulty you could pretty much do things using excel once you have the list of names and know the percentages at play. Just set what chance the new roll should be to balance things, dump the list of names in and throw in =RAND() and cut out anybody under the desired threshold. The last thing that might be difficult but I doubt would be based on things they’ve done in the past would be to postmaster the item to all of those people.

Resetting Fyrak HC lockout is not a bad idea tbh. It would dissuade all these valid complaints about timing AND it would level the playing field with EU that got hotfix before reset.
Yes, it would be extra loot but who gives a $¥€% at this point in the season.

I get 6 pants, 6 head and so on! There need to be some wishing list for items at least!

This needs to be done.

Wait, did people kill him on all 4 difficulties already yesterday?

You only need to kill him on 1 difficulty, the highest you can complete (per character)

The problem of people upset about theoretically missing the increased chance of a drop the day it was hotfixed will evaporate with the next lockout.

It sucks that they missed the newly increased drop chance, but it didn’t guarantee a drop, and the bad luck protection widget they received along with every previous one will have been improved.

To my knowledge, Blizzard has never reset a loot lockout deliberately for any reason, and certainly not for a population as small as the eager beavers trying to farm the axe first thing after Tuesday reset.

I’m sorry. :frowning:

If it’s any consolation, the Dark Shaman appearance was not actually able to drop at all in flex difficulty Siege of Orgrimmar for like five months after it was released in spite of Ion’s assertion much earlier that it could when people started asking about it. After recognizing the error and correcting it, they did nothing to compensate people who’d been diligently farming in flex difficulty for months, completely in vain, and I was one of them. Still don’t have it! But that’s Blizz for you.

I’ve placed a suggestion/feedback from the in-game interface regarding resetting Fyrak HC Lockout for US. I suggest ya’ll do too.

Also, why the system was not attached to M+, which is the real hard content most players have the chance to face?

Also, why make it RNG so anyone could get luck and have it?

I bet they still did not put any sort of wall on the BLP, like if you kill 12 times you get it… I bet there will still be players that will not get it…

I say blizz should ask the comunity for help with math formulas…clearly not their fortress

Why not make getting a “legendary” item harder to obtain rather than just luck of the draw? There should be some sort of challenge, like the mage tower in legion for example. Blizzard has made certain classes almost non viable without the legendary. Hard to push io when all pugs want to see is that you have a leggo. I see 2500 io players with it all the time with way less fyrakk heroic kills. Great system, if you want to reward average. “LeGEnDarY”
