Okay, here’s why the cybertruck is a death trap, specifically in regards to its shatterproof glass.
Standard car glass is designed to shatter for your safety. So that if you have an accident and your seatbelt doesn’t stop you, you don’t hit a solid glass wall at 20+ mph. It’s designed to shatter so if you get into an accident, you’re unconscious and your car is on fire, someone can break the window and get you out of the car before it goes up in flames or worse, explodes and takes you with it.
It’s designed to shatter so that if you accidentally left your pet or worse your kid in your car with the windows up during a hot summer day, someone can break the window to make sure your child or pet doesn’t die from heatstroke and dehydration.
So when Elon decided to put shatterproof glass in his cybertruck that cannot be broken even if you throw a steel ball at it at high speed? That makes that car a death trap. Because a firefighter could swing their crowbar or axe at that glass and it would bounce right off.
Okay? That just makes those cars death traps as well.
It’s not a win.
Again it’s like slapping glass beads on your airbag cover to make it look cool. All you’ve done is turn it into a claymore that’s pointed at your face.
I never said that protective vehicles shouldn’t have bulletproof glass.
I said they’re dangerous vehicles to be in because of the glass in the event of an accident.
Like, imagine for a moment that you’re driving a car with shatterproof glass and you get into an accident and end up in the water. The doors are busted or can’t be opened due to the pressure on the door from the water outside, or worse, you’re unconscious. The car is filling up with water.
Standard car? You, or someone else outside of the vehicle can break the glass and get you out of the car before you drown.
Cybertruck? There’s no way that glass is breaking, so you’re going to drown, which is a horrible way to go.
The amount of people who have been pilled by Elon Musk because they think they’re cool for driving cybertrucks will forever be funny to me. Genuinely the greatest con I’ve witnessed lmao
Yeah no, while Tesla cars have marketed that as happening, it’s not a guarantee. In fact, Mitch McConnel’s sister-in-law died as a result of that not happening in March of this year, and people who rushed to help her were unable to break the glass to get to her when she accidently drove her Tesla MX into a pond.
It’s a roll of the dice.
I’d rather have windows that break for safety reasons, not windows that can’t be broken if I’m in an accident.
You do you though. I don’t really care. It’s your life to risk.
That said, gear can be bought or traded in D4, and once someone copy/pastes their build from sites online, you can pretty much do anything with ease with the right gear.
Of course, tribalism is out in full force, but i didn’t say what i said to suggest that it was a one sided thing, it’s just the focus of the discussion was Musk/Trump, not Biden or anyone else from the other side.
I must say though, although neither side is perfectly innocent or truthful, there’s definitely a good side and a bad side in this tale, and to the outside world, the vast majority of people see Team Trump as the bad guys.
