Yeah its a reality there was some burned bridges this year. But for those of us left they can release something that makes us proud of our game again. Cause I do not feel great about looking at my B .net launcher these days.
It’s just a much easier way to develop “world” content. Squeezing “content” out of every millimeter of landmass and nerfing flight was the paradigm going forward from then on. It was the reason that WoW became an obstacle course of “rares” and “treasures.”
This is a casual, content is irreverent.
this is a solo player.
this could be a solo player, a non competitive player, or just a regular player…
It’s not though, it’s always meant time invested, it only started to “change” when WoW started rewarding people for being good at the game instead of just playing a lot.
I hate when people say “just stop playing then if you don’t like it” sure, for people like me who have only played for a short time, I get that. I don’t have 10 plus years of investment in a game I love like some people do. WoW is a love affair whether or not people want to admit it or not. Divorce can be difficult.
I already came close to quitting this game because of all the “spaghetti code” you have to go through when you hit level 60. Maybe I’m just too stupid to figure it all out, but I decided to just quit Shadowland. I already got Shadowlands Loremaster, so I guess I’ll just go for the Loremaster title by playing backwards starting with BfA.
my 2 cents.
If this is them catering to us I would hate to see what then not catering to us looks like because yikes.
If boosting remains in 10.0 then the corruption is still there and it will be a flop. Ask yourself, Is Blizzard going to make 10.0 boost free and legitimate?
There’s the answer for whether the game will be good or not.
I’m still here.
You… Have a point…
Boosting has been in the game since day 1. The only difference is that as community tools improve it gets easier for the boosters to advertise.
Guess the game has been corrupted since Classic… You’re seriously naive if you think free boosting will somehow turn the game around.
Action Replay is fun for a very short time. Then the game gets ditched for all of that “hard work” you put in to “earn” things.
My Trade chat on my old server was like 100% boosting adds. I kinda get what she is saying.
It doesn’t need to be fun, just addicting. That’s the model that MMORPGs have been built on. That and FOMO which the WoW devs perfected.
They actually think they do. I believe it was their intent. They don’t understand any of the game’s demographics. It seems everybody’s equally unhappy.
I think Ion thought he was designing a game that he, a lifetime raid logger, wanted to play. Ion no longer plays.
For anyone saying this isn’t happening, you should really pay attention to what they’ve announced for 9.2.
Half of the patch they announced is a progression system for casual players doing world quests, that specifically has no impact on raiding power.
Blizzard has clearly re-adjusted their target to casual players instead of mythic raiders.
Blizzard lost a lot of devs, writers etc… as well. I don’t see 10.0 having the quality that previous expansions had.
Except the progression system is required for two legendary items
The deck is certainly stacked against them right now. Even a minor inconvenience will send some of the bitter returners in 10.0 away just outta the premise of this expansion being so bad.
It’s my earnest belief that people don’t know what fun is until they’re having it (or it’s over.)
I don’t think the WoW devs set out to create a disaster. They just don’t know how to make a fun game. The original game was fun because it built upon a good theme. The players are the ones that made the memes and created the living world (of warcraft.)
The game is a victim of its own success. Once people settled on the “right” way to play, it was all downhill from there.
