Elitism In Classic?

So only in a very small area with rules strictly controlled by blizzard. Got it.

You can go there on PvE servers too and it will automatically flag you!

This is going to sound weird, and while I do empathize with the frustration that’s being expressed in this thread, this conversation still warms the cockles of my black little heart.

Why? Because for too long there was very little distinction between playing on a PvE realm and playing on a PvP realm. We had inadvertently created a situation where there was little risk when leveling in the world on a PvP realm. The experiences were, for all practical purposes, virtually identical, but that wasn’t what we had in mind.

Life on a PvP realm can be nasty, brutish and short. Justice is in very short supply. Every action you take in the world carries with it an added level of risk, from questing, to hunting down profession materials, to simply traveling from place to place. You can be attacked at any time, sometimes by an overwhelming force. Of course, the shoe can also be on the other foot, and you’ll be able to turn the tables on your attacker, or find clever ways to delay them or escape from them. Some will become roaming slayers, seeking out enemies to destroy.

In short, the experience on a PvP server is different. We want it to be different, and that includes everything from honorable conflict on the field of battle to horribly despicable ganking. It’s all part of the fabric that makes a PvP server what it is .

Let the blood be spilled .

Oldie but a goodie. Miss Draxxarri.

Correct I agree, blizzard wanted you to be able to grief half of the server population on pvp servers. That doesn’t make it unregulated pvp.

Me thinks you take the video game too seriously.

I hope blizz brings back the warning message when choosing a pvp server…

Me thinks he just needs to leave PvP alone and go where his strengths lie… Fighting pre-programmed 100% predictable and easy content and leave the reactionary quick thinking to those people who enjoy it

In this day and age, if you don’t know what PvP stands for in video games, idk what to tell you. A message is cool, but often overlooked.

Eh, no shade to PvE. Some folks just can’t handle the heat, this dude just needs to grow up.

Nah, that’s why I play on a pve server :stuck_out_tongue:

It helps keep ppl like buddy here away and stay in their safe place

Then what’s the issue?

Nah, dude is just looking to argue.

Its cuz he wants the Rank 14 gear without pvping to get rank 14 and is butthurt at the farm to get the shiny epix

Then he’s s.o.l. and can wallow in his pile of salt.

No shade to PvE 100%

1,000,000,000% shade to people who complain about PvP being too hard and complaining about it and saying “BUT EVERYBODY SHOULD PVE BECAUSE WOW IS A FREAKING PVE GAME!!!”

Thats what happened in Warlords. Legion. And in BFA “but wow;s a pve game!” and pvp has suffered HEAVILY since

Pvp is such a side game that it had its own esport (and still have tournaments)

It’s really odd when folks say this kind of stuff. Like dude, do you not want money going toward Blizzard and therefore content to be created? Why would you want them to stop providing content to customers just because you don’t dabble in it.

Freakin’ weird people.

I never said “stop providing content” but one aspect shouldnt suffer so long in such a huge manner.

True. My bad with the hyperbole.

Ironically this thread from a seemingly constructive player asking if helping others learn the game is elistist has devolved into an elitest argument about which game type is best.

The WoW forums never disappoint.

The argument is actually about pvp evolving to be just as important as pve
