I was sure it was the case.
Never trust Pservers Only official team can go in DB and actually check the right config

Oh wow. Private servers were wrong all along. What a shocker! Now we get to listen to these people brag about how they’ve played a maginally harder version of vanilla.
Agreed, BUT it’s always worth mentioning on the beta just in case!
Good stuff. Thanks for showing us some hard evidence.
Blizzard was on that like Drogon at a King’s Landing BBQ!
if ya’ll want more evidence, here’s a post with video evidence comparing Asmongold’s SFK run to a random level 25 Warrior from the vanilla game.
damage is pretty much identical.
Amazing! Looks like many of us knew it all along. Loving what I’m seeing out of Classic difficulty.
Not that I didn’t expect the numbers to match, but I’m curious if the results are the same if the mob isn’t spawned out in the world and is instead engaged by zoning into the dungeon. It would be interesting if specific dungeons were configured to affect specific static mobs
They are, people are experiencing it in the beta dungeons as we speak
It’s nowhere near as good. It makes for a good comparison, and nothing more. It can help us know if pservers are overtuned, or make the assumption that the beta is undertuned if the damage is significantly reduced.
Now that a blue has posted evidence that it’s the same in their reference client and , I think that should clear up this issue.
Now, another reminder that pservers are overtuned: bosses have 4691 armor on the bigger pservers and the databases while they had nearly a thousand less armor in 2006, and here’s proof with Beast Lore:
Magmadar with 3731 armor

What I’d give to be Ion for a month and be able to look at the Retail and Vanilla code and data …
Wait until the rage when raids get stomped and people think the raids were harder than they really were.
Well, the early raids won’t pose much challenge, but it’s been confirmed that private servers weren’t accurate and mobs had more resists/armour - so at the very least, it won’t be as easy as on private servers.
It’s official then.
Patch 1.12 is garbage - even more so than i thought possible.
So because the first boss in the first Alliance dungeon (and one of the first dungeons in the entire game) doesn’t hit as hard as you incorrectly remembers, the whole game is going to be bad?
If people are still chain pulling in BRD with no CC…then I will know there is an issue.
We have level 30s soloing the Vicious Fallout in Gnomer, people doing RFK without healers and with 4 people. I think there was some mention of a level 38 elite not being able to kill a level 10 player as they were running through badlands and aggroed it.
It’s not about what is correct. But what is right. What is authentic. And it’s not.
I remember thinking Deadmines was too easy on a private server. Questing seemed as I remembered…but dungeons seemed easier. But I never made it to the later ones.
I mean, not to make you look like an idiot, but they have an authentic 1.12 client.
Uh… if it’s authentic, it’s right. I haven’t seen what you claim, and quite possibly those mobs in particular are tuned wrong, but it really depends. I’m giving Blizzard the benefit of the doubt on that one.
