Hi Vrakthris,
Can I safely assume that having the game gifted to you is close enough to count for this promotion? It specifically says “bought” or “purchase” multiple times, which is just unusually specific if the intended meaning is “own”. Are owners of these expansions going to be denied the promotion in January if they were gifted one or the other?
Regarding using Vessel of Hatred, I am aware that I would have to own the base game to play it. However, nothing in the promotion references buying or owning the base game, and supposedly, you don’t need to log in to the game for the promotion if you “bought” it via Battle.net. Can I get confirmation that someone who owns both expansions, where both expansions were directly purchased on Battle.net, but does not own Diablo IV, is going to denied the promotion in January?
And to clarify, I know that I won’t be able to redeem the promotional materials in Diablo IV, but the promotion rewards the items in Battle.net, so this technically shouldn’t matter if I only want the rewards in WoW?
I’m sorry to be nitpicking, but at this point I cannot purchase the expansion for myself (since I already own it), and I’d like to avoid spending another $30 if I already qualify for the promotion. I appreciate any assistance you can provide in this matter.
