Initial sims showing a 16% nerf off of the machine gun build for Patchwerk and around 34% for sustained AOE lmao GREAT CHANGES BLIZZ!
I get wanting to nerf the machine gun build, because that’s why our tier set was changed on the PTR in the first place.
But when we were still able to -potentially- maintain 100% storm elemental in single target because it was not tested in raid we get a complete gut to the talent itself instead of adjustment to the tier set bonus?
This is over a 30% hit on AoE.
You should nerf ghost wolf because it’s uncomfortable to move my character in raid.
While I can understand the concerns you are attempting to address with this change, making these changes without in turn compensating for them so that the overall dps of the class remains consistent with what it would have been without these changes is a poor design decision and frankly unacceptable.
I understand the reason for the changes, but I don’t think the spec was overperforming, was it? Shouldn’t there be some kind of dps compensation somewhere to help offset this pretty brutal nerf?
I guess we can always play kyrian rsham in keys, even with vesper nerfs more useful than an ele
Soooooooooo, you basically are telling me that you are nerfing elemental shaman because some mindless guys reported that is to fast for their fingers!!!
I don’t see how this is anything except a massive nerf to an already middling spec that is barely played. 20 stack Wind Gust storm elemental has been used in M+ for a long time now.
People vastly over-memed the amount of mashing the spec has to do anyway. I tried it out for 10 minutes and it is not even as uncomfortable as a Fury Warrior gets all the time. You still got breaks where you do normal GCD Lava Burst and normal GCD Earth Shock, and then it was 3-5 fast Lightning Bolt until you start going “normal” again.
To do this now with 0 adjustments made elsewhere just feels vindictive.
If this is an accessibility issue, I hope you can compensate the nerf with a damage buff of sorts so that this is not a damage loss for us.
Then those people can choose to play other builds? And in any case, 0.6 seconds is incredibly lenient, especially with the default spell queue window in the game. Wind Gust has been able to stack to 20 for years and it was never a problem.
Absolutely terrible change. PLEASE revert.
Who cares if it causes an accessibility concern? You’re removing an opt in build which is insanely fun because, what, people might play it? On the other hand you’re screwing over players who love this playstyle AGAIN.
Your nerfs aren’t even consistent with your goals. Resetting the buff when you recast the storm ele doesn’t do anything for accessibility. All it does is make the set bonus less fun and less effective. I still remember Ion said at the end of Legion that they were going to preserve the high APM playstyle of shadow priest. I swapped over to ele because I finally was going to see it again and it just immediately gets gutted?
Also as many have pointed out, you’re nerfing a class ability for its interaction with borrow power. Every single time this has happened the class becomes garbage when the borrowed power goes away.
With that change you are destroying a class, i am changing to enhance better, just to not unistall the game
You know what’s not comfortable? Not being needed anywhere because your class sucks. Shaman was already a B tier and ayou just made it so much worse. You guys are a bunch of morons who have no clue about class balance and you are ruining the game forcing people to play meta classes which are ALWAYS THE SAME. Lemme smash my buttons and be half decent. You never hear someone say “I need an ele shaman”. Either buff the lightning bolt and chain lightning damage or reverse this stupid change. Look at the massive backlash you are getting and hopefully realize how stupid this decision is
“Who cares if Staples didn’t have a ramp entrance? It wasn’t a problem for YEARS. They can just go somewhere else if they want copies or other things done.”
Just because you didn’t hear about it doesn’t mean it wasn’t a problem. People actually feel comfortable giving accessibility concerns now with blizzard having a commitment to being more understanding. You also have to remember only a fraction of the playerbase are on the forums.
Again, complaining about the fact this is a nerf is fine and my first post here was agreeing with it.
But saying “who cares if it’s an accessibility concern” is ridiculously insulting to the people who need it. “It’s optional” isn’t an excuse when it’s the highest parsing talent. On top of that, why are you allowed to tell people they should have less options just because they have hand mobility issues?
Please reconsider this, you are going to absolutely gut this spec with these changes.
No, this is a bad take. Nobody is forced to play storm ele build. There is only one entrance to Staples, so of course you need a ramp. There are myriad builds you can play with Ele. Rethink this.
So the answer is to take away our only high parsing build and leave us dead in a ditch? No. The fact that they’re not giving any compensation here is unthinkable.
This is so much more than what was necessary. At the very least there must be some sort of compensation if the only proposed reason was accessibility.
They could completely delete shaman as a class and it wouldn’t be worse than what was going on in the last year. Please don’t suggest that any nerf is even similar.
At least add something to compensate for such a huge loss of damage.
Elemental Shaman is not strong, it’s hard to play competitively as it is.
Whoever made this decision should be fired from the company wtf
