But are they going to? I’m personally completely fine - and I think most are - with the “machine gun” build going away - But they need to compensate bc Elemental shaman needs help. They gave us ZERO FEEDBACK in the PTR thread for our class set, despite hundreds of comments. And then they drop this massive nerf without a single thing to make up for it. Do you see why people are maybe very upset?
Tell me you didn’t test the machine gun build without actually telling me you didn’t test the machine gun build. It’s less spammy than 9.1. These people don’t play their own game.
sure, but we are only a few days away from a new mythic raid starting.
“considering the minority” but lowering the majority Ele’s chance of entering mythic line up and a new season of M+ plus content doesnt seems resonable as well aye?
sure the reasoning can be acceaptabe, but defintily not at the right time.
The “machine gun build” does not spam just one button. Lava Surge procs and earth shocks are nonstop during the rotation. Very few people even tested this build on PTR and it shows.
Real entitlement is demanding that a playstyle be changed because you can’t play it. I enjoyed being able to cast that fast, as did the overwhelming majority of people who ran Storm Elemental. It’s the same reason haste corruptions were so popular and loved at the end of BfA, people simply love pressing their buttons quickly. The proper thing to do in this scenario would be to buff the non-machine gun build to provide a viable alternative, not ruin the moment-to-moment gameplay of the vast majority of the people playing the spec.
This is like saying there’s a ramp and stairs, but since not everybody can take the stairs we’re just going to remove them and force everybody to take the ramp.
I said “may feel” for a reason and it’s that it’s obviously not only 1 button but my main concern is that they are nerfing the top parsing spec, limiting it while not providing anything in return.
Because they don’t care about Ele shaman whatsoever. This is not an “accessibility concern” but a response to Tettles’ comments on Wowhead about Ele being bugged and too strong.
It’s insane, isn’t it? Think back to the PTR class set forum and all the elegant, well-thought out suggestions the shaman community had. We get zero response from Blizz and then they just come and drop this on a pleasant Friday evening.
This is stupid. I guess people who cant spam at that rate dont get to play the higher throughput build?
The nerf is stupid, fixing something that was absolutely uncomfortable to play (spent hours on dummies on the PTR and it does suck) is fine. They just need to make up for the massive loss.
This is absolutely not at all what they said. They are AGREEING THERE NEEDS TO BE COMPENSATION while also understanding some people, clearly not you, had trouble executing it. It was not a skill issue, it was a APM issue.
But saying “who cares if it’s an accessibility concern” is ridiculously insulting to the people who need it. “It’s optional” isn’t an excuse when it’s the highest parsing talent. On top of that, why are you allowed to tell people they should have less options just because they have hand mobility issues?
So buff other builds to make them competitive instead of nerfing the one good one. It’s not even just the fact that it’s an effective build that they’re destroying, but also that it is by far the most enjoyable. I mean this with zero offense intended to those with disabilities, but the way you solve accessibility is not by lowering the bar (poor choice of words, I know) until everyone has access. Killing this build genuinely just feels like “If I can’t have it, nobody can.” There is not a single other build in this game I was as excited to play since shadow in Legion.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone call this a skill issue. Also the issue is that they are NOT PROVIDING ANY COMPENSATION. They dropped a massive nerf under the guise of “accessibility” and tap-danced away. Now people just have hopium that they’re going to come in and provide buffs to make up for it.
