There’s a reason ele shamans are brought to WSG tournaments, usually with 2 elemental shamans.
It’s because no other class can global a flag carrier like an ele shaman.
Typically in the tournament the Alliance aide will bring a pom/pyro mage as it’s flag carrier while the horde side uses ele shamans.
Ele is far superior.
The damage from earth shock is not even remotely what makes it OP. The fact that every 4 GCD they can shut you down for 2 seconds from 20 yards is what makes it OP. The damage is just icing on the imbalanced cake.
It’s a pretty large contributing factor to what makes it OP because it acts as nearly half of the instant burst they can provide.

There is currently no single class better at bursting someone down inside of a gcd.
Get zerker hut buff, use invis pot, wind up EM CL into earthshock, dead fc.
If you’re the same dude from the tourney sorry they gave you that DQ, that mage lost.

Mages and Rogues are busted in their own way, but not even they can cast a 1.5s Chain Lightning + Earth shock and obliterate someone’s HP.
But let’s not shift goalposts. We’re talking about Shamans. Now I understand that you are a little touchy because that’s the class you play, but try to look at this objectively.
