Balance Druid scales better than Elemental and does way more AOE dps. I think it might do more single target dps as well but I honestly haven’t bothered to check.
Elemental is far better than Balance in PvP.
Resto shaman is more in demand than Resto druid for raids.

PvP is dead in Classic but Ele would be better for that since you can 3 button press on gamer dads who are still queuing up since most of them don’t know how to counter it.
PvE wise there’s a reason why there’s a Shaman shortage, it’s the worst scaling class in the game and aside from Enhance which is a very annoyingly hard spec to play the other two specs are super bare bones and are essentially just turned to Bloodlust bots by end of the expansion.
Boomy on the hand is infinitely more useful, your damage is relevant throughout the expansion and your buffs are far more needed along with innervate and rebirth being BiS in almost every scenario.
You can also destroy BGs and even casual arenas with Boomy.
Feral also is really good in PvP and PvE but suffers from the Enhance problem that it’s really hard to play.

An ele shaman in healing gear is stronger than a balance druid in healing gear.
Both healing specs are strong healers with dps gear, late content.
Not sure how what I said was dumb lol, by Ulduar phase Ele is bottom of the meters and you won’t even need their buffs anymore as other classes provide better ones and Resto is just a chain heal bot.
I’d rather take a Resto than an Ele just for lust, wasting a DPS slot on Ele in later phases is not a good usage of time.
And that makes them “bare bones” how, exactly, when they bring a lot more than Chain Heal to a group w/ totem buffs/lust, etc? I don’t think you’ve played resto.

None of the shaman totems make an impact on gameplay, there are better buffs that other classes bring which negate shaman buffs and on top of that what else are you doing besides chain heal spamming? Holy Pally is the best healer and next is probably Resto Druid with maybe a Priest to follow that, Resto shaman brings lust which is probably the only reason to keep one around.
Go to Warmane leaderboards and find me a single top 100 raid guild that brings a Resto or ele shaman, I’ll wait.
It’s amazing how sensitive everyone is, getting highly offended over the use of bare bones.
The majority of what was said was true, shaman scales poorly and is valued for its buffs by the end of the expansion.

A lot of encounters don’t and 10% phys reduction isn’t that big to where you need them over a Hpala or Resto druid that has both innervate and Brez.
If you think 10% phys damage reduction is superior to Brez and innervate then you are trolling me.
So you can’t even name unique buffs it brings that better than others, got it.
Pre-BiS came from WM data, Raid comps and tactics came from WM data, meta lists and tier lists came from WM data, want me to continue?

If you think that there isn’t going to be another class that can brez in a raid that isn’t healing then you’re trolling.
