Elemental Invasions were a pre-prepatch event in Wrath.
Blizzard just forgot about them.

They were not in Wrath. They were in patch 4.0.1.
That is when they ended.
The entire premise of the event was Twilight Cultists telling of the coming Cataclysm and the elements going crazy knowing Deathwing was coming.
Once 4.0.1 hit the Cataclysm happens.
The elemental unrest was 4 phases.
Phase 1 was 01NOV2010
Phase 2 was 08NOV2010
Phase 3 was 12NOV2010
And the 4th and final phase of the event, the “invasions” themselves were from 15NOV2010 until 23NOV2010 (prepatch).

That is incorrect. They started in patch 4.0.1, the “systems patch” for Cataclysm, and ended in patch 4.0.3, which brought in the Shattering.
Patch 4.0.1, the first half of pre-patch, was released on October 12, 2010. I can’t include Warcraft wiki links, sadly.

You’re right, this was the part I forgot that prepatch didn’t start with the Shattering.
Regardless, they’re pre-Shattering. Which has already happened for us in Cata Classic.

Sadly. I sort of saw this coming. I can’t remember if any of the rewards were unique looking, but it does mean we missed out on an achievement.

They’ve been skipped. Deathwing is already here.
Very disappointing. Lot of lore leading up to Cata was in those quests. Which sucks for those new to Cata and those craving nostalgia.

They really can’t even be bothered to do pre expansion events? Why are we paying 15$ a month to play a game that had all it’s development done over a decade ago if they can’t even give us that quality?

I’ve been looking forward to the invasions since they announced Cata Classic.
Man, we really need to hear from blizzard on why things are being implemented the way they are. Elemental Invasions nonexistent, Have Group Will Travel nonexistent, Cash Flow nonexistent, apparently no void storage?, so many things…
They don’t have to remove these things entirely. Just be creative creators and find solutions around them instead.

You’ve got to cut blizzard some slack, they’re just a small indie company.
Odds are we’re just going headlong into MoP because Cata was one of the not-so-popular expansions.
I mean, I’d be fine with that.
I don’t mind Cata, but for me it’s just a road to MoP. MoP was my favorite version of WoW.
